Fox and MSNBC really took a hit in primetime from the previous day which is to be expected on a Friday before a holiday. However the 5-8 pm shows held up pretty well. A few shows like Lou Dobbs, Campbell Brown and Hardball Hour #1 even posted increases from Thursday.
Yeah, crazy how Glenn Beck blew them all out of the water in that slot. More viewers than all the others combined in that time slot. Guy is really striking a chord with Americans. Thank goodness someone is willing to talk about what none of the left wing media outlets are.

dj Controversy is ratings gold, whether it’s cable news or a reality show (Jon and Kate Plus 8 anyone?) So the real test for Beck will be how much of the audience he can keep in a month or two.

A sane and reasonable person argues only with factual information and states opinion as such, not attempting to use emotion as a premise for logical reasoning. See my post above about the kind of country you are asking for. There is not much concern about the ability of those on the left posting here to drive conditions to that result, however. The intelligence level is insufficient if evidence shown thus far is an accurate representation.

Mike Jay Bush, please tell us what study you got your 99 percent numbers from. I saw several studies during the 08 campaign and the liberal networks were between 73% and 84% positve for Obama while Fox was 54% positive for McCain and 48% positive for Obama. The comparison of negative reporting on Bush showed the liberal networks were in the 70-80 percent negative for Bush while again Fox was about 50-50. Like I have said before Fox seems more right than they really are because the others are so left. I know the facts won’t convince you of anything but they are what they are.
Another fact is look at the posts under this date and count the profanity and name calling and see who is doing the most of it. When the facts abandon you then marginalize the opposition with name calling and personal attacks– the liberal attack plan.

I’ve often wondered why Maddow always give that smarter and holier than thou smirk. I deduced that it was because her girlfried must have just walked into the studio.
To answer your question Charlie, its funny how cowards like Cheney and Shamey here try to classify people in a certain light when they themselves have done nothing to protect and serve this country. Remember when you guys would call us out as being unpatriotic when we would denounce this useless war in Iraq. Shamey has changed the dialogue from unpatriotic to terrorist. If Shamey here was a true American who took the oath to serve this country, irregardless of his political beliefs, he would see the value of all Americans. Instead he tries to lable those that dont agree with political ideology as simply terrorist. Its one thing for us to engage in this for a lack of a better word, useless dialogue that goes on here on this site (No ones opinion is going to change no matter what we say but I respect your right to say it), but its different with guys like Shamey. He goes beyond the pale. . . He insults all of us. Ive noticed that no matter how you and your cohorts back either other up, none of you defend his childish antics and I respect you for doing so. He never engages in any constructive dialogue other than his little diatribe. So to answer your question do I think my serve, my thoughts and my opinions matter more than others -they only do when you deal with pseudo-patriotic cowards like Shamey.

Fox is kicking ass because viewers have found an outlet that doesn’t kiss Obama’s butt on every issue. The state-run media, on the other hand, is shedding viewers like an oak tree sheds acorns. MSNBC is taking the biggest hits. Fox News will break viewership records tonight after Obama delivers his little tantrum. You can take that one to the bank.
Maddow is MSNBC’s biggest disappointment. Why she is still on the air can only be a contractual thing. Same with Chris Matthews who gets creamed nightly by Fox News. MSNBC should wise up and just run “Lock Up” reruns in prime time.
Bruce, What did BSMBC (NBC_GE- whatever) expect when hiring someone who had worked for a humongous loser like Air Head America? The only bigger idiots were the residents of Minnesota who put one of Airhead’s biggest loonies in the Senate!
So Gibson are you going to condemn Sharon too. She uses more four letter words and name calling than anyone else. I know she has gone after everybody but let me use myself as an example. I like that idea of scrapping their “News” shows and shwoing more Lockup and the Child Predator shows. I’ll admit I enjoy them from time to time. I watch their “News” but not out of enjoyment. Mostly to try and gain an understanding of how people think or are “informed” on certain things.
Also if you miss an evening of Fox News, MSNBC has the replay/highlight show on around 8pm every night.
Charlie — great point. MSNBC’s programing is half Fox news videos. As I said before, Fox’s ratings would go down at least a little bit if the entire staff of MSNBC would stop watching Fox 24/7 but then how would they know what is going on in the world.

And while we are at it Charlie, being the somewhat old, retired, professional liberal that I am, what I have found to be the most interesting, no… amusing part of todays dialogue was one of your earlier commments you made where you were seemingly perplexed at the large number of liberal comments being made challenging the conserative view. It is no doubt that in years past, especially when George W. was in power that we liberals took a back seat in expressing ourselves as we being amazed, really in disbelief, at what in the conservative guise of freedom and patriotism was transpiring in the near destruction of this country by the neo-conservative right . So Charlie dont really be surprised that there are this many of use out here. Guess we liberals can thank George W. and his enablers (guys like you and your alter ego DB) for bringing us out. I don’t know all the other stuff your talking about Gibson. I was refering to how all of a sudden on this blog we had all these people at the same time bashing Fox News. I was making a hint at how they were all similar in how rather lame and downright childish they all were. It seemed suspicious to have it all of a sudden if you just look at past updates.

The liberals took a back seat during the Bush admin in making their feelings known? These type tactics are pretty typical of people in your position. Attack the messenger since you can’t dispute the message. Try to make them look bad and unbelievable, so nobody will take them seriously. Thankfully there are a still people on either side that can see through and are above these antics.
