Before our technical difficulties on Friday night, I got the post on ABC Family renewing (or at least adding 10 episodes to the first season) 10 Things I Hate About You.
But the fates weren’t as kind to Ruby & The Rockits:
Meanwhile, the third member of ABC Family’s summer 2009 freshman class, the comedy “Ruby & the Rockits,” will not continue beyond its original 10 episode run. The network has decided not to order additional episodes from the sitcom starring Alexa Vega and David and Patrick Cassidy.
Thank God that show was not that funny

This was the type of comedy show ABC should have been airing. A family style comedy.
I actually liked this show. It was juvenile but sweet and surprisingly smart and funny at times. I actually think it deserved a second chance.
That answers my question from yesterday. Hopefully they will find a more compatible show for 10 things.

It was one of my favorite shows. Fanny and with singing prety teen that can actually act.

their are only 3 comedies about this. Hannah Montana, Jonas, and Ruby. Hannah Montana is a much better show and performs and Disney’s highest rated series. the show is extremely popular for a kid/teen oriented show.Ruby, has a very weak storyline, and horrible acting. and if anythign Ruby was just a way of making a cheap rip-off to see if they could make another successful comedy like Hannah Montana.
Jonas on the other hand just sucks, it emphasizes how annoying the crazy fans are, and how cheesy and unappealing their songs are.every time Miley Cyrus does something they always copy her. She did a 3d movie, they did, she has a tv show, now they do, she gets a new hit single, they do. they will never reach the height of Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus’ popularity. although both have gone down in popularity, Miley is still on top compared to JoBros.
Back in the day I was a big David Cassidy fan, so I tuned into the first episode. I never made it to number two, it was too painfully bad to watch. Not surprised the show did not make it.
The show was cute but OMG the flashbacks were so creepy. You can’t make that old look that young no matter what kind of 80’s wig you throw on it.
I hope they can change their decision, I think it was a good family show, it was meant to be satire. It was fun to be able to sit and watch with family and have a good laugh and watch two generations growing and learning to understand each other. My other hope is maybe another network could pick it up.
Such a great show. Please bring it back. It is not too often these days that you get a good family comedy that all of us can enjoy together. If ABC wont have them, please search another network, Shaun.
I can’t believe they cancelled Ruby and the Rockits. It was such a funny show, great for family viewing. It gave us all a good laugh and we need so much more laughter these days. I hope they reconsider or perhaps go to another network.
What a great comedic series! My whole extended family will miss it next season, from grandparents to teenage grandchildren. Especially enjoyed the character played so well by Austin Butler.

They cut this cute comedy and not that stupid “10 things”? Seriously how could you ABC family? A new network deserves “Ruby”…don’t cancel it for good. seriously it made tv worth wasting time on.

Please don’t cancel Ruby and The Rockits! I think it is hilarious and one of the best written and acted comedies! BIG MISTAKE to cancel this show!!! Please keep it on!
OMG! i really liked this show! it was the ONLY show on abc family which didnt include sex as a focal point!!! it was a sweet show, enjoying to watch. why did they have to cancel it thers much stupid-er shows than this i dnt get it

please do not cancel ruby and the rockits i have watched it since the start and i think it is a great show its not like other shows. its one of my favorite because of that i think that your making a big mistake and should keep airing the show, it would be stupid to end it like the way they ended too.
