If TLC really wants to make some good money, they’d sell a pay per view fight where Kimbo Slice just beats the snot out of Jon Gosselin for about 10 minutes. Kimbo doesn’t win many of his MMA bouts these days, it seems, but he’s still ratings gold, and I’m sure he could handle Jon easily enough.
I’ve never watched Jon & Kate Plus 8, 152 articles a day about these people relatively few are watching anymore has me annoyed enough where I’d consider springing $40 on a pay per view event where Jon is beaten senseless (or even more senseless than he already is).
The readers digest version of the update is that apparently Jon is a bit testy after TLC announced it was dropping his name from the show which starting next month will be named Kate Plus 8, and that while Jon would still appear it would be in a limited role.
So a day later, Gosselin had his lawyer fire off a letter to TLC: “Effective immediately, no production crews are to enter Jon’s family home for any reason. In the event that anyone enters the marital property, Jon Gosselin will notify the local authorities to effectuate police action against any trespassers.”
Additionally Jon is on the rampage about the show being basically ruining his life and with his lawyer as his mouthpiece said: “Jon realized his family was like a train wreck, so he decided to put the brakes on the divorce and on the show” … because if he didn’t the family would be in a mortal accident,” Gosselin’s attorney Mark Jay Heller said.
TLC said it has temporarily suspended direct filming of the children “pending further conversations between both parents.”
The network also said “We are aware of Jon Gosselin’s recent statements, and remain deeply disappointed at his continued erratic behavior. He and the family were shooting as recently as last Friday, without incident, and his latest comments are grossly inaccurate, without merit and are clearly opportunistic. Despite Jon Gosselin’s repeated self destructive and unprofessional actions, he remains under an exclusive contract with TLC.”
Kate says she is “saddened and confused” by Jon’s behavior.
I actually like Kate now. The kids are so cute on this show. JON IS AN ASS!

While I know his motives aren’t in the right place, this is the first good thing Jon has done in a while. Can you imagine being one of those kids and knowing your family is falling apart on national TV?
He finally stepped up to the plate and made a decision he should have made a year ago. He is on tape saying he did not want to do the show anymore at the end of last season, but she forced the issue. He put his pants back on and took charge of his family. Great job! She only wants money…proof lies within her new book deal and her new show. She doesn’t care about her kids…she cares about how much money the can bring her. GO TEAM JON…
John, unfortunately, I can’t be Team Jon anymore, though I wanted to be because Kate is just so horrible. I think the only appropriate team for anyone is Team 8. And for them, they show needs to stop.
Hmmm maybe TLC will give them both shows than we can have “Jon vs. Kate” charts…

While it is a long-overdue intervention, I really think he’s just doing it to act even more like a child. His timing is obvious: TLC takes his name off the banner and he has a tantrum about the entire premise of the show.
I think this is unique: an occasion where two wrongs DO make a right.
Divorce Court. Great idea! While these two alleged adults are over there having fun, let someone with some sanity take care of the kids until one or both of the alleged adults demonstrate consistent maturity traits at least 4 years beyond the oldest of the kids.
According to EW, filming can continue, but without the kids for the time being. So Jon & Kate Plus Eight becomes Kate Plus Eight and now it’s currently…Kate.
What a train wreck. I think the show is basically done because I cannot imagine how they will ever be able to have the kids on again with social services involved and the dispute over money owed to the children. Kate might get a show but her she is just a flash in the pan. Kate was a typical abusive spouse. One can say Jon was childish and such but without question he was the victim of emotional and mental abuse by his spouse.
I love all the men’s responses…. typically they are on Jon’s side. No surprise there.
Personally, I think it would be better for the kids mental health and development. I think there needs to be a serious review of the idea of having small children on a reality program and the long term effects. “What happens when the cameras go away do the kids go all Bonaduce?” Maybe Jon is doing it for the wrong reasons (Let’s face it when has any of them done anything “for” the children since this whole thing started?) but I think the action is right. O.O

Keep kids, get rid of parents. How about a kid show on PBS? They sing, dance and have fun.
I was BORED out of my mind this summer and I don’t know how it happened, but I started watching the show during the day. The episodes prior to this current season.
I cannot imagine being married to Kate. Control freak to the extreme. Constantly ripping on Jon and treating him as a child. When Jon lets the kids be kids, she freaks out and has practically an on-screen tantrum. Before this season ever started, I wondered why Jon stays married to Kate. Why doesn’t he stand up to her. What in the world did he see in her. When it came out that he had an affair, it was no surprise to me.
As for the kids, they’re great. Cute and lovable.
What I hope happens is Jon is able to kill the show. It would be the best thing for the kids. Think what it must be like to be the older two girls at school. Their family dirty laundry heralded by the media.
And what I also hope happens is that TLC and other reality show producers/presenters stop sticking their cameras into the lives of children. Especially as a series. Maybe one episode or special, but not every week. You need only look how Hollywood has messed up child stars to see it isn’t good for kids. Hollywood/fame is too distorted of a world for kids to adequately handle, not to mention even understand. It needs to stop.
These children will never have a “normal” life. Everywhere they go they will be stared and pointed at. Taking them out of the public eye now will not solve a thing.
Unfortunately, their mom quit the only profession she has ever had in order to be a full time parent 4 years ago. Their dad got tired of parenting about 4 years and nine months ago and decided against being a man just before puberty. It seems as if both parents are being realistic. TLC controls the only income they have to provide for their circus of a family and they need to do whatever it takes to keep the money coming.
The most bewildering point to me is why Jon still can’t seem to get a job?! He is turning into the new Paris Hilton of reality TV. The only difference is that he doesn’t have an inheritance to fall back on.
Why people believe they “know” so much about this family is beyond me. Watch it or don’t watch it. If the ratings go down enough, you think TLC will give a flip about this family. At any rate, when it comes to the “news” about this family, it’s all Enquirer-kind of GOSSIP! Worry about your own families.
He’s just doing this for the money. Point blank. He realizes his free ride will be over soon. I think he’s trying to keep that money train coming his way. He doesn’t want to end up having his own show on TLC “Jon Plus Homelessness”
seems the only “normal” time these kids have is when the camera crew is around since they keep mm and dad from turning into complete ogres. Think Jon would have his latest skanky girlfriend babysit with a boom guy in the room?
The guy has had three skanky girlfriends on the cover of US magazine. he’s hosting parties in Vegas. He’s Mr. Ed Hardy. And now his ego has been bruised since he’s no longer father of the year.
isn’t it kinda late now to “worry” about exposing the kids, they exposed them at a time when they were defenseless against it, the damage has been done, at least the kids are old enough now to communicate any displeasure with the show or being on it.

since he was kicked off for acting like everything but a father, he now wants to pull the plug on his wife and kids.
if anything he should want the show to continue at this point. its going to upset and completely change the lifestyle of his kids (who maybe havent had to foucs on the divorce given that their still filming and doing things). its not going to save whatever privacy they could have had or the marriage. the show is on the decline anyway.
all hes doing now is hurting the show in which is bankrolling his family and his kids future.
