Community should stay at 9:30 and the schedule should look like this
8:00 30 Rock
8:30 Parks and Recreation
9:00 The Office
9:30 Community
with this schedule, Community has a chance of doing well because 30 Rock will do a better job of leading off the night. But its NBC so Community will suffer at 8.
Over/under on number of comments tomorrow claiming they had no idea Community moved to 8 and they nearly missed getting to see it, but lucked out by leaving the TV on after whatever comes before it in their market/caught it on their DVR/happened to see it was on while flipping channels during Bones commercials?
My guess is that they will pull 5.5 million viewers and 2.3 demo. But I wish it will be higher though
Forg – It will probably be worse. Community got that with the Office as a lead in. Leading off thursdays, 4 million probably.
Dan, Community pulled 2.9 last week with The Office as a lead-in. 2.3 is a perfectly reasonably guess. (Viewers don’t matter!)
Dan – thats exactly what I thought the schedule should be. I mean with all the emmy awards and talk of 30 rock it would be better to have it on earlier and it should do better than any other of their shows at 8 and if they want any more successfull sitcoms they are going to have to use the office lead-in.
They have to put community at 8, because the Office is having an hour long episode. I’m guessing it will get as low as a 2, as high as a 2.4. It should give Parks & Rec a boost up to 2, or as high as 2.2. Just my guesses.
Should be:
8 – The Office
830- Community
9 – 30 Rock
930 -Parks
Keeps the mockumentaries apart.
Community has already moved OFF my PVR! no matter what the time. Gave it a try… no thanks!
LMAO! Is it on the same channel! Really funny. Yeah Community should stay at 9:30
my heavens! can they really show that kind of language on the internet, you know old people can watch this and get so upset that they make messes of ALL kinds and the folks at retirement homes will have to clean up, ALL KINDS!
Julia – I know but the demo could still slip down, despite not having an Office lead in. Its possible Community could do as badly as Parks in the demo airing at that hour. And I know since its NBC, viewers definitely dont matter.
Tony – Thats why NBC should move veteran 30 Rock to 8 to lead the night off and prop Community after The Office.
Ron – With that schedule viewership would just go down at 8. NBC needs the Office at 9 to hold up against CSI & Grey’s but cant have two new comedies lead the night off.
Community will do 5.5 million and a 1.9 rating.
I wish the show (which is decent) was as good as this clip.
I’m surprised he didn’t mention that Medium also moved to another channel and is now beating everything in its time slot. Sometimes even winning the whole night. NBC dropping that show was really dumb.
Am I the only one who thought this was hilarious? I dont even know the guy, and yet found it funny. Dont see too many comments about the actual video…
@Marc
Sucks that you moved it off your PVR…..
I think 30 Rock can stand on its own now, so Community should stay right behind The Office. 30 Rock at 8 would definitely be a better lead-in for Parks than Communty.
@dennis
30 rock isnt a viewer magnet either, 30 rock is better after the office
I played it on my laptop, and my 5yo niece started crying.
Nice video.
I still think Community will find its legs and become a good show if given time. I watched it last night and thought it was pretty funny again, though maybe not as much as the prior episode with John Michael Higgins. I love the spanish teacher and this show has grown on me. I agree with the rest on NBC needing to fire their schedulers and redo things. 2 new shows should not open before 2 veteran, established shows. Ever.
