What other networks
I know these cable networks get their numbers every morning– just wondering how MSNBC can be proud of this or spin it in such a delusional way that they feel good about it. It’s embarassingly awful.
Glenn Beck is great! Humorous and sarcastic, but so much truth in his analyses and communication. Well, we gave the progressive a try at leadership, and they are blowing it. Let’s yank the plug in 2012. What is this sh*t of a healthcare bill?
I think MSNBC have alot to be happy about, they’ve beat CNN and everyone else in pretty much everything. I imagine CNN is quite an expensive channel to run, are they losing a lot of money?
yean, MSNBC are beating everyone
except FNC…………………..I know that just irks them LOL
Wow, it blows me away the numbers Fox gets, even the early morning shows get better numbers than MSNBC or CNN’s evening shows. I am wondering how much longer FOX is going to leave Beck at the 5:00 PM slot, can you imagine his numbers if he got Greta’s spot? I like Greta, but Beck would be great at that time slot.
.
Come’on guys, it’s not just about MSNBC “beating” CNN, which is one-dimensional thinking. The real question is: “By how much” is MSNBC beating CNN? Answer: Marginal, not by much…and oh yeah, MSNBC will have to take it in the *ss if you compare them to FNC, the superstar of all news media.
Thats been alot of speculation David. Are the networks that are getting beaten so badly in the ratings loosing money? I’d guess not. Or maybe they are and they are write-offs or something for their parent companies I don’t know.
Charlie,
MSNBC is “owned” by the White House. Expect a massive “bailout” anytime soon!!!
How can anyone say MSNBC is beating everyone but Fox? Are you leaving Fox out of the ratings game?
Fox beats them ALL combined!
Morning Express with Robin Meade is growing and i think it will be the number 2 morning program soon. Glenn Beck numbers are great.
The only ones worth anything on MSNBC are Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan…I am sure we got room somewhere on Fox for them.
After a slow Labor Day start, FOX seems to be getting their mojo back. The other netwroks can spin all they want…FNC is #1!!OX is fin
“Wow, it blows me away the numbers Fox gets, even the early morning shows get better numbers than MSNBC or CNN’s evening shows.”
Hahahaha. Do you even bother looking at the facts? Or do you just create them in your head? Just an example of a Fox News viewer who seems something white and calls it black, creating reality in his mind…..
Fox is not a news network, people. The real news networks are tied, with HLN coming in fast and furious as a close third.
The previous two posts (4:13pm & 4:16pm)… Did you guys go to college? Or, are you just spewing liberal sh*t? If you’re going to post, at least make some sense.
Fox does a much better job at explaining their point of view in a non-condescending and entertaining way than their competition. Although I consider myself fairly open minded on most issues, I think it helps that democrats for the most part are just flat out wrong. So wrong most of the time that the liberal news organizations can’t bring on anyone to defend their points without making them look like jackasses.
I wonder how many people from the other networks have been turned away by FOX when looking for a job at FOX? Anyone?
Hey “Omegapart!cle,
Fox has hard news people same as CNN and MSNBC. Oh and Fox has commentators just like MSNBC and CNN. It’s histerical on your part to not realize that. Keep on living in your little dream tank. Most of the people who vote democratic could care less about being informed. They’re busy watching television channels they can relate to and come up for air during the elections and vote the way unions and ACORN tell them to vote. That’s primarily why MSNBC gets no ratings, They will always stay behind FNC.
Remember when CNN was number one. Now they are just above HLN in primetime. Its because they are still doing new the same bland way they have also done. It may have worked twenty years ago but it is hopelessly out of date right now. Also Larry king is past his prime. He still does the old and tired format of interviewing the same person for an hour. Its okay when its the president or someone else in the news but when its a former contestant on American Idol or a celebrity from the fifties nobody cares.
wait tell news corp buys nbc. the wall street journal just passed usa as the best selling newspaper. fox is just the best. do you see a trend.

Redeye beats CNN primetime at 3:00 am, redeye is a great show if any of you haven’t dvr’d it yet, my proposal for a new fox lineup,
Cavuto at 4
Shep at 5
Special Report at 6
Megyn Kelly at 7, replaces Greta’s on her show
Factor at 8
Hannity at 9
Beck at 10
Factor at 11
Redeye at 12
Beck at 1
Hannity at 2
etc….
LOL. MikeB punks out swishy liberal Allan with something he never expected; the facts.
Hey Olbermann: O’Reilly has tripled your ratings and Nancy Grace is nipping ever closer. It’s not fun anymore is it? What will you do? Turn back the clock and bash Bush some more? Rove? Gonzales? That Ensign story didn’t go far did it? But you have your boy Edwards to thank for that. There’s always that new/old stand-by Sarah Palin. Whoops, she a best seller. Nice job. It’s just not working out for you, huh “tough” guy? What will you do? Well, I guess it’s another weekend of skulking around in your mom’s basement playing with your baseball card collection.
Thanks Mike for posting the facts…..I guess Liberals are blind to everything including ratings that don’t favor them.
I’d like to see Megan Kelly in the prime time line up, maybe they could team her up with John Stossel.
Looks like Keith was up a bit from the last night. Seems like Beck was the opposite though.
When the MSNBC guys take viagra they get taller. How does that work?
Gotta love Anita Dunn. Keith had a good story about how price waterhouse admitted that books were definitley cooked on those poll numbers that insurance companies were backing. As well as the companies phony claims about the healthcare bill.
Thank you Fredrick and GaryD7310.
I love when the “liberal leftenista’s” come in here (and elsewhere for that matter) and try to “stretch” (or is that strain?) their brain cells and attempt to convince us that they are smarter than us “right wing hillbilly racist’s”. Just like “Lefty-Lucy” from elsewhere in here (probably Sharon’s alter ego).
They’re still in a Kool-Aid induced drunken stuper as far as I can tell with some of the ridiculous comments they post here. As I see it based on the evidence presented on several occasions here on this site, they live under a BIG rock in a very dark and deep cave somewhere and have no clue (or care) as to what’s going on around them. And as for their intelligence level, based on the evidence presented before us, I could probably measure it in a microscope.
Don’t forget to drop in to the “real basement” where you can REALLY open up and say hi and speak your mind! http://www.voyagertrans.com/forum1/
When you have only one garbage dump in town alllll the garbage in town goes to that one dump. There is only one place on Cable to find the garbage, and its Fox. It’s not real news because the facts are most often missing, twisted, slanted or just plain lied about. For the people who love to hate and want to hear only what they want to hear, Fox is the only place in town. The other real news channels on cable split their audience between all of them. Also, entertainment, comedy and horror films have always been more popular and fun to watch than factual news programs.
Try to get viewers to watch Beck or hannity or O’Reilly if any of them try to consistently give two sides to a story without throwing in any “scarey” stuff about socialism, racism, end of freedom, nazi and other name calling, brainwashing and hollocaust propoganda, and watch their ratings drop. Watch the ratings drop if any one good or positive thing is said about the president or the country. Shepard Smith is the only true ethical news reporter on Fox and you notice his ratings ain’t so high. When you march around town with a tea bag hanging from your head it doesn’t take much to “reel” you in to the land of “who will you hate today” better known as Fox News.
SHARON! YOU’RE BACK! WE’VE MISSED (abusing) YOU!
How are you dear? Hope all is well! Still waiting to see you come to the new forum, you’d be welcome there, as all are welcome, and you can spew it out to your heart’s content without having to worry about being censored!
And for our resident “Red Eye” fan up there, I seriously doubt that it will EVER end up anywhere near primetime. It was never intended to be taken seriously as a news (or commentary) program, more towards a parody of the days news… “the lighter side of the news” if you will. A chance for us to laugh it all off after a very long day.
I watch it too if I’m up and most times have a good laugh, other times I just think it’s way too silly to watch.
Mr Coffman, I believe you mistyped a great deal above there, so lemme see if I can play the role of your teacher and make the much needed corrections so that the facts resemble some level of truth;

If any one good or positive thing is said about our citizens or the country in which they live, it would be a miracle! So the State Run Media that is PMSLSD and the Communist News Network are getting their head handed to them by FOX.Maybe the U.S.A isn’t finished yet. Jim Killian
Mike B I just love your comment!!!!!
Hey Folks NEWSFLASH! Hot off the wire! MSNBC has finally hired a credible reporter who I believe will double or triple their current ratings lineup. They finally managed to lure a big name away from another network. Look for Spongebob Squarepants to be taking over the evening lineup soon.
I used to think that FOX got the highest ratings because they were the most balanced – but now its because they’re one of the last credible news sources in the country. CNN, MSNBC, HLN, ABC, CBS, NBC…., all in the tank for Obama. Thank god we still have one news organaztion that is objective.
Oh, and expect to see another ratings boost for FOX, particularly Glenn Beck – courtesy of Annita Dunn and Obama’s war on FOX. Did anyone see the red phone on Glenn Beck. Absolutely genious. My prediction – this will work as well as the Glenn Beck “boycott”. lol.
bluenose177 says: yean, MSNBC are beating everyone….except FNC…………………..I know that just irks them LOL
Actually, MSNBC and CNN *are* blowing FOX away – online. When you factor in online hits along with ratings, FOX and FOX News don’t even come close to the other two. It barely even registers.

You will probably be surprised to find out that TV ratings are judge by viewership on TV. But thanks for the “the scoop” anyway!

STOP THE G*D DAMN PRESSES!!! STOP THEM NOW! HOLY SH*T! CNN and MSNBC “blew away” Fox news online… (wait for it…) 5 FRICKING YEARS AGO! WOW! WE’RE ALL IMPRESSED!
As I seem to be “educating” the mindless masses this past day, I’d like to point out to you sir/madam the following…
1) You failed to read the date on the journalism.org site to see that it was written in 2004!!!!!!!!!!!
2) You failed to read the date on the businessweek.com site that it was written in 2006!!!!!!!!!!
3) You succeeded in humiliating yourself like so many that have come before you! Congratulations!
Now go away. Go “impress” someone else in whatever whole you crawled out of. People like you and the others that have come on here and made fools of themselves do the liberals and “left wingers” justice!
Keep up the good work! LOL!
Mike… LOL … that was a great response….now my side hurts from laughing so hard at you once again setting another lefty loon straight!!

maybe you want something more current? like as of April 2009?
http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/online_mobile/msnbc-and-cnn-top-global-news-sites-in-march/
the reason FOX is doing so well is 1) It’s the only source for all your GOP conspiracy ‘news’.. and 2) It seems that Republicans haven’t learned how to use the internets…
myself.. I watch CSPAN if I’m watching TV.. or PBS.. But I spend far more time on the internet reading the news and watching videos.. the internet is far more convenient for news.. you see what you want when you want – not simply whats on.. of course for all the wingnuts I imagine you TIVO glenn beck.. can’t possibly miss him cryin his eyes out. I appreciate a good comedy like anyone – but when you call something a NEWS show you need to actually have NEWS.. not simply a 24 hour opinion piece.
But honestly.. numbers are irrelevant – if you look at the highest rated broadcast TV show it’s football. It shows the intellect of the average american.. they watch the NFL and Glenn Beck.. in between polishing their gun collection…. very sad. If you ever want to know what bad music is.. look to the ones selling the most albums. If you ever want to know what bad TV is.. look to the most popular shows.. you can be sure they are examples of what the lowest common denominator in the country thinks ‘is a real hoot’.
So go grab a budweiser.. and watch your favorite bigot on your one remaining ‘news’ channel – keep on hiding from the truth…it’s your right as a militant frightened ignorant american racist.
and here’s another one for ya mikeB – it’s the rankings for september -
this one is for the cable tv channel website rankings
http://www.marketingcharts.com/television/top-10-tv-websites-september-2009-10729/
they also have one for political websites that has FOX ahead of cnn though… although huffington post has nearly double the visitors of FOX for political websites for september.. considering other data shows cnn gets more hits.. i’d say this list is rather messed up because it isn’t counting people who go to cnn.com – only ones that go to cnn/politics.com.. or whatever the site is – which is basicly just a sub site of cnn that you get to by clicking a political story.. so it won’t register traffic correctly.. but either way – huffington post is beating your beloved FOX.. so enough with your foaming at the mouth about your fake news network..
FOX blows…
and another one for september..
http://www.marketingcharts.com/television/top-10-broadcast-media-websites-september-2009-10677/
I’m sure these ratings will change as soon as the red states get broadband access though.. =D
Dave, you really don’t want to start comparing the numbers on “other” or “all” media outlets…
FNC is the only conservative network? True! Then again, it does be all other networks combined and then some. Not to mention that if you run the math, its likely that more dems/libs/independents also watch FNC than watch CNN or MSNBC. Furthermore even if there were 2 or 3 conservative news channels, conservative cable news networks would still rule. How would CNN and MSNBC feel if they were actually ranked 5th or 6th?
So what they get more hits on the internet?
What about radio? Look up the radio numbers. Books? Not even close either!
So before youg get too excited about the internet, maybe you need to look at the whole picture. Or keep looking at the small picture and enjoy your “victory”. You guys try so hard, you deserve alittle something to feel good about. Certainly can’t feel good about your elected officials.
Anyways you guys, we aren’t supposed to get to political here so join us on our new forum: http://www.voyagertrans.com/forum1/index.php
Ok, so to end the insults and down talk from the lefties, the PEW researche people show that FNC viewers are 55% Dems/Indys. So do the math!
FNC gets MORE DEMS/INDYS Than other networks get total viewers!
I am ad have always been a massive news junkie. I have my Fav’s set on news only and flip all lookingfor articles i want to know about regardless of source. I watch FOX 90% of the time ust for that reason. KO, CM and MSNBC are really out in another zone and Pat B. is the only one to stop my surf.
Where are the numbers on IMUS….? I see F&F numbers dropping and wonder if the “I” man is cutting intothose numbers due to the fact the other Nets are not moving.
JRO, the guys that run the site say that FBN’s numbers don’t get calculated by Nielsen so they don’t have the numbers.
I had to double-check whether this site hadn’t become “internetnewsbythenumber dot com” (
as I clean my guns – hey what was that noise in the back yard?)
FoxNews dot com is tough to navigate, IMHO. I access it to look for bios, URLs they flashed on the shows, or why they went widescreen; almost never to read the news.
Oh and BTW, Glenn is saying on the Radio that its in the Washington Post today that Anita Dunn is OUT! Says shes leaving by the end of the year…
Another victory for Glenn and FNC!
I hand it to the conservatives, they all sit down and watch their conservative network religiously, which results in FOXNEWS having the highest ratings of the three cable news networks. We liberals/Progressives tend to always have other things to do with our time besides watching tv. I try and DVR my shows on MSNBC and CNN, but I don’t think they score these DVR viewers. I’m just too active to sit and watch these shows from hours on end. I wish they would include DVR stats in these numbers.
FOX has viewers from all parties dems, repubs, conservatives and even libtards. People want the truth and they are not getting that from CNN or MSPMS. Thats why FOX has such high numbers! The truth always wins!
Marvin,
Exactly what are you liberals/progressives doing? Standing in line, waiting for the “redistribution of wealth” you were promised?
Marvin, your argument is rather silly and uneducatd on a few different levels.
These ratings DO include DVR/Tivo. Like I have pointed out several times, even if there was 2 or 3 “conservative” networks, “conservative” tv would still have more people waching.
and the whole lib/dems have better things to do is simply childish and silly. No proof one way or the other to substantiate any kind of argument like that, and common sense simply says that its an ignorant argument.
Plus the numbers and math say that FNC has MORE Dems/Indys than other networks TOTAL VIEWERS, often beating them COMBINED in Dems/Indys.
Hey, but if you want to discuss the issues more expansively than TV ratings users here are joing this forum created by user Mike B:
http://www.voyagertrans.com/forum1/index.php
Thanks Dave Kennedy for the current on-line ratings. I went back to Pew to do a little research and found that in 2003 FOX News wasn’t even listed as an on-line news source with PEW. It is also worth noting in this analysis that MSN was pre-loaded as the default ISP for MS Explorer on most new computers, and for some time (until Microsoft was sued and lost) was the only pre-loaded ISP.
Since 2004, FOX went from 0 to #6 in 5 years, has an audience that is already 42% the size of MSNBC, and grew 48% from 2007 to 2008. While MSNBC added 3,294,495 to their unique audience total FOX increased by 5,445,730. What would make sense for FOX now is to buy/merge with AOL or YAHOO.
Now for the really bad news for MSNBC. Only 21% of people polled by Gallup in June 2009 consider themselves liberal. Conservatives and moderates weigh in at 75%. What are the chances that MSNBC with its progressive viewpoint will be able to increase its audience? How does slim and none strike you? Let’s be honest here the anti-Bush tidal wave that propelled MSNBC ratings will eventually turn into a ripple. MSNBC plateaued in November 2008 and the 2009 numbers we will be looking at next year will show a negative trend for MSNBC.

Olbermann called Michelle Malkin a mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it just because she objected to scholl kids singing that obama song. Instead of giving a reasonable civil difference of opinion as usual he resorted to childish name calling. Thats the difference between Fox News and MSNBC the former reports the news the way it should be and the latter just takes hateful immature cheap shots disguised as reporting.

I’m sure these ratings will change as soon as the red states get broadband access though.. =D

You are such a loser Kennedy. Conservatives don’t have all day to ‘play’ on the internet. We go to WORK every day, unlike you left wing moonbats, who are sitting on your ever widening asses all day, everyday defrauding SSI & welfare.
Get a job punk!
Pretty sure those numbers include the people who DVR.
dj109, all the ratings we report on our site, and pretty much everywhere else in the media (except in posts specifically about DVR viewing) include Live+Same Day DVR viewing which counts DVR viewing until 3am the day after airdate.
Fox news is not A legitimate news organization
Masscomm……….
Fox News IS a “news” station between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Again, from 6pm to 8pm.
It is their evening programming 8pm till 11pm, that is commentary and opinion. As is the 5pm Glenn Beck program.
Same holds true for MSNBC. Their commentary and opinion shows run from 8pm till 11pm. Of course, Chris Matthews, supposedly is a journalist? though, his show is now based solely on opinion, during the 5pm and 7pm hours.

“2) It seems that Republicans haven’t learned how to use the internets…”
__Hmmm, Seems your wrong there. I myself am an independent, but I see many republicans around these parts here beating types like you up. And I do seem to recall that it was a DEMOCRAT (several actually) that, just recently as a matter of FACT, that told the American public they didn’t know how to get the bill they were writing onto the website/INTERNET so that we could review the proposals being presented in the HCB!
“myself.. I watch CSPAN if I’m watching TV.. or PBS..”
__You must lead a very boring life is all I can say on that one.
“But I spend far more time on the internet reading the news and watching videos..”
__I too “read” the news (limited to top stories) on my front page when I open up the browser, however most (not all) stories tend to contain more of the writers opinion in some cases, so I take the validity of most with a grain of salt. Their main purpose (for me) is just a general feel for what’s going on that day. On those videos you mentioned… they wouldn’t be of an naughty kinky nature would they? C’mon… you wouldn’t lie to us now would you?
“the internet is far more convenient for news.. you see what you want when you want – not simply whats on..”
__Can’t argue too much there, I myself find it convenient especially on the weekends when I don’t watch news on TV unless there’s a major story to be seen. But one mustn’t rely on it for it’s sole source.
But with the posts above that you made, the interpretation by most people would be that you might not even know how to use a remote for the TV! That’s sad.
And for your stats that you presented all of us with, quite impressive, but means nothing (to me at least) except for MAYBE it’s a sign that you “geeks” need to get out more often. There’s so much out there to explore in the “real” world.
If you added radio programming stats (AM, FM, Satellite) to the argument here, then you and all the rest would lose hands down and this continuous argument would be finally over once and for all. ‘Nuff said. You’ve convinced all of us that whatever your computer tells you to do, you’ll do it… “Hal?… Open the doors Hal… I’m sorry, I can’t do that Dave…”
Masscomm student…
You’re a broken record… or maybe just broken period. Now go back to class! Or try to find some at the very least.
I love FNC but i will admit there Website sucks compared to the other Cable Channels. Did you know you have to PAY for the Primtime lineup Podcasts/
Looks like FNC desroyed them again.
I would say Neil Cavuto is more commentary than news. I think since he comments mostly on the business side of politics he’s over looked as commentary.
But again he is commenting on relevant news, and I’m guessing he is the highest show in his time slot.
BILL -
Im just curious, Do you know / have you heard as to why FOX has not been willing to move Glenn Beck into a “primetime” slot. He now beats Hannity and Greta handily everynight. I realize he hosts a radio show in the morning so there might be a csheduling conflict. it just seems with numbers like his the move would be automatic .. just curious, thanks.
Dangerclose, nobody talks to me.
Dangerclose
It could be that Greta’s viewership is strong enough to support her time slot.
Beck is doing so well in the 5pm slot, no need to move him. People are finding him, no matter where he is on the tube.
Hannity holds his own and is the one true ultra conservative voice on Fox. Glenn is conservative, but is more opinion, Hannity, more commentary.
Why mess with success???
Glenn is on the air now destroying Obama’s FNC War Czar Anit Dunn! Another radical, how many more will it take for America to wake up?
Glenn Beck is exposing the truth.
Dangerclose,
Have you ever heard of this saying “if it is working beyond your wildest expectations, don’t get too greedy”?
Moving Beck into Hannity’s or Greta’s slot means moving either Hannity or Greta OUT, possibly uspetting 2M+ viewers in the process. Merely swapping players doesn’t guarantee they’ll carry their audiences along with the move. Moreover, none of the players is near losing his/her edge in their current time slots, and contractual obligations may be involved as well.
I love the way people object to the one dissenting view of the liberal/socialist/communist/marxist administration and their news outlets. Fox is the only place to hear certain stories. The ONLY one. They have people in the white house calling them liars and airing false stories….well, what are they? Please let us know what “lies and falshoods” are being aired. Is it the videos of the people in the administration, in their own words, making socialist and marxist comments??? Just curious. Maybe some of you Fox haters can answer these questions because the other media outlets wont investigate and answer and we know the administration would never even dare mention them.
I miss Shane’s posts sometimes…
…all the same just ask Anita Dunn!
Hey guys! Check out that new site Charlie and MikeB keep referring to. http://www.voyagertrans.com/forum1/index.php
It’s a really slick site but they don’t have anyone intelligent on there yet. They need me and Darla, Sharon, GBD, Masscomm Student and the rest of us so they’ll have some REAL discussions. Nobody deletes you over there as long as you don’t get pornographic or really nasty. They even have a place there called the basement where you can talk about anything at all. It doesn’t have to be about MSNBC or FNC ratings or politics. You can talk about recipes or whatever. It’s really cool!
