    .
Damn! I think Glenn Beck is on his way to pass O’Reilly soon. I like them both equally, but Beck now has alot of charisma, because he makes so much sense.

  2. Julian says:

^^You must mean undesidrable sarcasm and ridiculous stunts. I thought we were looking for news on FOX? Guess I was wrong.

  3. Julian says:

This is perfect example of how CNN brings in an audience when a big story breaks, be it as uneventful as this one.

  4. chrisandkeithsuck says:

God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. Go Glenn!

  5. Capt. Larsen says:

I have a feeling that Becks ratings are indicative to his morning radio show. He always leaves you hanging on a subject that he will address on his TV show, so folks (naturally) tune in.

I think it’s phenominal that he’s pulling in those numbers. He deserves it.

Oh, and Julian, go grab a mop and help your messiah.

  6. CaliforniaGuy says:

    .
Can somebody kick the ignorant bloggers outta there? The Glenn Beck program is an opinion show, not a news program. FNC, like other cable news channels, has both news and opinion programs.

  7. Gary says:

Funny thing is, Glenn Beck backs up everything he says, even has a phone to the White House so they can call if the disagree with him, no calls. Beck must be correct on his information.
Beck is getting close to the man, Bill O’Reilly in the numbers game, I like both equally, they really need to move Beck to Greta’s spot although I like her.

  8. shannon says:

wow…even with that balloon boy crisis, Glenn Beck stayed with his normal show — didn’t cover the balloon boy like Cavuto did — and still nailed CNN.

  9. chrisandkeithsuck says:

    chris and keith still suck!

  10. cindy says:

Don’t forget Maddow! Throw her into that mix!!………..lol

  11. bruce says:

Beck has 5 TIMES more viewers than Chris Matthews. How can MSNBC endure such indignities?

  12. bruce says:

A good prime time slot would net Beck more viewers than O’Reilly. I think we might be talking 4 million per night for Beck. How can Fox News resist moving Beck to prime time????

  13. Richard says:

In response to bruce, it may have to do with contracts. When they are up, you may see a realignment.

  14. Jeff says:

Reruns of wrestling should replace olbermann and maddow. More people would watch and it would be more believable than anything those two have on their shows.

  15. Esther says:

I wonder if Fox will eventually replace Hannity with Beck? I want to see O’Reilly followed by Beck! That would be 2 straight hours of great TV! Bring Beck to prime time!

  16. Charlie says:

WOW, look at Beck! I was nervous with the “live breaking news” that CNN was showing at 5pm.

    GO BECK GO!!!

  17. Dangerclose says:

    CALIFORNIAGUY-

  18. Dangerclose says:

    CALIFORNIAGUY-
for an opnion show, he sure gets results….. NEA, Van Jones, ACORN on and on .. LMAO

  19. Blazermaniac says:

Realignment would be a great thing for PMSNBC. Paid Informercials should be run, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That would make more sense than the crap that’s on there now.

  20. Philosopher Jay says:

As a recent article on By the Numbers noted, Cable News viewing is down quite a bit from last year. Comparing Primetime Thursday, October 16, 2008 to Thursday October 15,2009,

    Fox News down 668,000 – 3,312,000 viewers to 2,614,000
    CNN down 1,168,000 – 2,016,000 viewers to 848,000
    MSNBC down 947,000 – 1,789,000 viewers to 842,000
    CNC down 62,000 – 246,000 viewers to 184,000
    HLN down 200,000 -807,000 viewers to 607,000

The only primetime time period that went up from last year was HLN at 9 PM
    2008 Glenn Beck 514,000 viewers
    2009 Joy Behar- 543,000 viewers

  21. cat7722 says:

Last year was an election year Jay. Of course all the #’s were up. They were unusually high and this year is more the norm.

  22. Charlie says:

Cat, we have told Jay and Told Jay that.

  23. db says:

Wow according to Jay, Joy Behar went up 543,000 from last year–pretty good. Of course Joy was at zero last year because she had no show. Cat don’t pay any attention to Jay– he is very number challenged but hey he teaches philosophy!!!

  24. db says:

Sorry I misread Jay’s statement. He is saying that Joy went up to 543,000 from Glenn’s rating the year before. Boy is that relevant!!! Please note the sarcasm.

  25. MikeS says:

Philosopher Jay also fails to mention that the night before October 16th, 2008 was the final presidential debate, meaning that the numbers were even more elevated than “normal” election year elevation.

  26. Cody says:

Remember the Presidents 1,000,348,298,384,348,434.3453 primetime speech to congress O’reilly had 5 MILLION VIEWRERS

  27. AppleStinx says:

Good for Joy Behar and her 6% timeslot gain.
    Meanwhile, Beck’s timeslot on FNC grew 136% (25-34 Q3′2009 vs Q3′2008).

  28. flipping through channels I stopped to the fool Olbermann for a few seconds. Quickly remembered why we bypass MSNBC now. What a DRAMA QUEEN. And they call Beck crazy? He’s known for contradicting himself and he’s lousy on the football shows. Is he still there. I quit watching because of him.

    Go Beck Go!

  29. Charlie says:

these ratings actually show another trend. Historically CNN lead the way on “Live Breaking News” right? So FNC trouncing them is the beggining of the end offically for CNN and MSNBC I think.

  30. Ken says:

    Philosopher Jay,

I hate to break it to you, but Beck came on at 6 P.M (central) on Headline news. He was before Nancy Grace. Do you work at CNN or HLN? That would make perfect sense.

  31. Tony says:

MSNBC is already a 24 hour paid infomercial network. Featuring non-stop propaganda of the Obama administration…and Extenze ( thanks Keith O. )…and the Slap Chop

  32. bluenose177 says:

hey Tony, the guy selling the slap chop and the guy featured in the propaganda coverage, aren’t they the same guy?

    SHAM WOW indeed LOL

  33. JJC says:

    Talk about EPIC FAILURE!

I knew the whitehous’s “war on FOX” (really just Glenn Beck) would only bring up their ratings, but damn! This takes backfire to a whole new level. First, Glenn installs the “red phone”. Now the whitehouse couldn’t say he lied or slandered, brcause all Glenn had to say is “I never got a call”.

Then Glenn Beck exposes that tape of Anita praising Moa tse tung. Expect Anita to resign soon.

Just like the boycott, all this did was raise his ratings.

  34. Jeff says:

I wonder if MSNBC has found a way to blame republicans for that balloon stuff?

  35. Dave M says:

    Bill or Robert,

Could you please verify the CNN number for 5:00 pm:

    Situation Room 1,914,000 viewers (607,000) (832,000)

This looks very suspicious … it usually averages something like 600K – 700K for the P2+ number ???

  36. Dave M says:

Duh, it was just the balloon story? My bad. Sorry, ignore my previous post.

  37. Boris says:

    Ken says:

“I hate to break it to you, but Beck came on at 6 P.M (central) on Headline news.”

It re-aired at 9 p.m. Eastern. Headline News was reported to be planning to drop this airing for Lou Dobbs Tonight right around the time Beck signed with Fox.

  38. GaryD7310 says:

I would love to see FOX News go after Lou Dobbs and put him on the network, but there isn’t any room for him unless you take Shep off.

  39. DGL says:

I would like to see Philosopher Jay made the co-host with Ray Maddow they make about the same amount of sense

  40. MikeB says:

    @GaryD7310…

Fox already had a meeting with Dobbs very recently. As for room, I would suspect they would put him FBN near Cavuto.

  41. WKK says:

GaryD7310: take Shep off!!!! He’s looking and sounding more like Keith every day!!!

  42. 1SG Hoffman says:

This is the first time I’ve read the Cable News numbers, and they are truly unbelievable. Maybe Obama and the Liberals should consider listening to the country’s conservatives, they certainly have the rest of America listening. Again, I had no idea the Fox Shows were pulling those kind of ratings. Wow!

  43. carlos says:

I am looking for historical record but I can not find any. Does anyone know if Hannity and Comes had higher viewer-ship ratings than Hannity now? I enjoyed watching H&C more than just Hannity

  44. carlos says:

Furthermore, does anyone know what Colems future is on FNC

  45. Charlie says:

    1 SG Hoffman,
Keep in mind that FNC’s viewership is 55% independents and democrats. This is from Pew Researche. So you can do the math and see that there are more Dems and Independents watching FNC than other channels have total viewers.

    Carlos,
I can’t speak of Colmes future with FNC. He is on O’Reilly atleast once a week and I’m sure I’ve seen him make appearances on other shows. I did think that I liked Hannity and Colmes better than just Hannity.

  46. Charlie says:

Oh and Mike B created a forum for us to join to discuss alittle more freely. The people that run this site don’t want us talking to much politics, so join several of us that are already on the forum here:

    http://www.voyagertrans.com/forum1/index.php

  47. Dangerclose says:

    1 SG Hoffman-
Welcome!! Little late to formation, but I covered for ya :)
Hope you continue to post …

    SFC Ross Army (retired)
    aka Dangerclose

  48. Riley says:

    @carlos

Alan Comes has a show on Fox Business Network now, if I’m not mistaking.

  49. gg says:

I could swear that I heard Beck say that he had realigned his home life and wanted to be home in the evenings with his family. I’ll bet the current time slot is fittingly fine with him.

  50. MDefl says:

This is a great site! Just found it through the Drudge link. One would think that Olby would have better ratings given all his exposure on NBC. The fact that his ratings, and the hysterical lesbian’s, are stuck in the mud, is a clear indication that everyone, even many libs, are tired with them.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to watch an hour of each show. Yes, they are alarmingly biased and never have anyone on with a different point of view but that is not the biggest problem. The real issue is that both are now incredibly boring. The shows are a snoozefest. Olby made himself with the libs by going after O’Reilly (who is NOT actually a conservative) and Maddow gained an audience on one issue, Gay Marriage. Now they are trapped in the box and will not survive unless they change. In an era of hope and change, perhaps that is possible. I would not bet on it.

  51. MDefl says:

Beck goes a little overboard for my taste but his basic points are 100% correct. They cannot be refuted. Notice how the left does not try and respond to Beck’s assertions? Nope, they try to go after him personally.

Olby is hoping he can gain ratings by doing so now that attacking O’Reilly no longer works.

  52. Golden Rule says:

    GO GLENN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO FOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  53. CharlieTpa says:

Don’t look now, but MSNBC and Obermann keep moving on up, overtaking CNN now and over a million viewers…your far righters keep on with your little club. Little by little as MSNBC keeps considating it’s viewers it is catching dear ol’ right wing Fox…to go along with the ever dropping GOP self identified voters, which now stands at its lowest ratings in 26 years at 20%.

  54. D Maue says:

I hate to burst your bubble Charlie Tpa, but they have a long way to go to overtake Fox, and if you would do a little research for YOURSELF, then you would know that over half the viewers on Fox are Dems or Independants. That blows your little theory there, so sorry. And by the way, I’m an avid Fox watcher and I’m an independant. We should all be united against the hypocrisy of Capital Hill instead of fighting amongst ourselves. Fox helps to unite not divide.

  55. kmg says:

Yea I can hardly wait for the elections in 2010 and all those crybabys at cnn and msnbc and the rest of msm. CNN is a white house operation with wolf bitzer and campbell brown terrible
