George Stephanopoulos will be the primary substitute for Diane Sawyer when she becomes anchor of “World News” next year, expanding his already formidable command of the airways as ABC’s chief Washington correspondent and anchor of “This Week.”
And this is supposed to encourage me to watch ABC news programming how?
Because George Stephanopoulos is awesome. I don’t care if he was a Clinton castoff. There’s something about him that makes him likable.
You may like him (I like him), but should we trust anyone who was as deeply involved as he was in any political party to deliver the fair and balanced news? I liked Russert (R.I.P.) as well, but . . . still . . . former partisan shill unworthy and unqualified of offering non-partisan news.
I’m sure everyone for Snuffaluffagus would be just as warm and fuzzy about Karl Rove hosting the evening news. No, they’d have a list of a list of reasons why he was unqualified.
If Karl Rove did the evening news that would be epic
I would totally watch Karl Rove as a nightly news anchor…
I could go for Rove, but I’d probably just start pining for Carville.
am i the only one who thinks that diane sawyer is a really, really bad idea?
mark-allen: no ….. Brian Williams must be one happy man
I do not like Diane Sawyer. She’s very bias and isn’t someone I want to watch everyday. I do, however, like George Stephanopoulos. He’s just an overall better anchor and reporter and I think he should have gotten the full-time position, for World News.
i think diane sawyer is an awful idea.. but ABC has to deal with what they have its not like they have alot of choices.. for example. NBC has alot of potential talent over there like Ann Curry, Natelie Morales and even Lester Holt to name a few so this wasnt ABC’s best choice but it was reali their only choice
Lacey says:
“I do not like Diane Sawyer. She’s very bias….”
Which way? One normally hears claims of liberal bias in the media, but of course Sawyer was a Nixon insider.
George has primary replacement? Just one more reason not to watch ABC evening news. When you didn’t things could get worse than Charlie (head in the sand) Gibson – ABC brings on Sawyer and George.
ABC let me know when you get serious about unbias reporting.
