Morning Joe has a good format, but it’s tiring watching the hosts laugh and joke with a parade of liberal guests, while questioning the odd conservative guest with scowls and feigned concern. Don’t kid yourself- FOX isn’t the only channel with a “point of view”.
Doh’bermann came in 4th with his repeat–Nancy Grace’s repeat even beat him. A little goes a long way I guess.
Another great day for FOX. I would imagine that when the playoffs are over that we will see a spike in the numbers.
Can someone chart how the White House attack on Fox News has helped or hurt Fox? Conventional wisdom says it has helped Fox but I’ve yet to see any data that supports that contention. Possibly charting it from when Dunn made her first attack two Sundays ago to now.
I wonder when the White House will get tired if ever attacking FOX NEWS? Doesn’t seem to work, can’t believe we have such stupid people working in the White House.
Keith had a great story about the public support for the public option. His numbers were up a bit from last night. Looks like the O’reilly factor was roughly the same as it was the other night, could Bill be flatenning? Oh no, whatever will you all do if his ratings fall? Even when Oreillys numbers slip he is till taking Olbermann to the wood shed every night. Even his ratings at 11 p.m. are higher than Olbermanns 8 pm ratings. Oreilly does different stories almost every night while Olbermann doees the same stories with the same cheap shots at his usual targets. At least Oreilly has the cajones to debate guests with different points of view while Olbermann just has people with his point of view.

At first, Glenn Beck was getting three times the number of viewers as MSNBC. Then, a few weeks ago, it jumped up to five times as many viewers. But now he is attracting almost seven times as many viewers. I guess this is what happens when one network does real investigative reporting while the other one just gets a thrill up its leg watching Obama turn on the teleprompter.
Fox news is a machine that shows no signs of slowing down. The white house can whine all is wants but the fact is Fox will continue to cover the news in a fair and balanced way and not bow down and seek their approval like MSNBC does. To quote Sean Hannity last night these comments are not white house approved.

Well, he called Obama a racist, which he isn’t, claimed that Van Jones was an ex-con which he isn’t, claimed that there were Fema death camps, which there weren’t. Oh and Fox and friends apparently, this morning, lied about a newsweek article that called the W.H.’s remarks against Fox to be unamerican. The article in fact stated that Bill O’Reilly and Fox was unamerican, not the white house. They managed to use an old pew research poll to try and claim that an equal amount of Democrats and republicans get there information from Fox news. The most recent shows that about 10% of Dems get there news from Fox while the majority of republicans get there news from that same source. Allan-thank you for siting that poll number. About only 19% of Americans have faith in the republican party to do the right thing.
Here is a way to tell what Rachel Madcow really believes. If she is laughing as she says she disagrees with something, she really believes it. I learned this 50 years ago watching old time Politicians in town hall meetings. It is pretty accurate.

PEW showed that 55% of Fox’s viewers were Dems or Independents. This means that Fox has more Dems and Indys watching than other networks total audiences.

Some of the commentators on fox like Sean Hannity and Oliver North have helped raised money for children who have lost a parent in combat in iraq and afghanistan. In addition Bill O’Reilly has helped raise money for the wounded warriors project. They are different things but some people on Fox have helped people. And I do appluad Olbermann for helping people without health insurance and you should applaud those on fox as well.
I do admire them for there contributions, particuarly Hannity’s involvement with farmers in California. I live on the opposite side of the country but I will say that farmers are on tough times and they have been for a long time, and it’s not something that gets reported or covered as much as it should by either side frankly. Anyone checked intot hat Franken bill? It could actually end up being a pretty important story.

Olbermann once again has put his foot in his mouth by saying that he tells the truth more times in one show than fox does in a week. Why is he so obsessed with one network. I own a small consulting company and hasve been looking to increase revenue through advertising on our local Cable One Carrier. Interesting to find out that to advertise on Fox News at a fixed time is $30/30 seconds while MSNBC is $20/30 seconds. Say what you want but these numbers say it all.

Oh, I just noticed Hardball w/ Chris Matthews is on at 7:00 again. Has that always been the case? Why would they do a repeat at that time in just 2 hours?

Kudos to Sharon. The Franken admendment is needed to protect people who work for contractors who abuse them. It will allow them to sue the contractors who fail to protect them from their own employees as is the case of the 20 year old who was raped by 7 Haliburton employees & then locked up in a cargo box for several days afterwards.
As for Faux News, As high as their ratings are, they still can’t persuade people to vote for republicans or their programs. The party of NO is just short for The Party of NOthing. I’m also glad to see that most of the Right wing nuts are all in the south . It’s easier to keep an eye on the troublemakers when they are all herded together in one corral.

MikeB-The white house supported the bill being passed, and inspite of the Dod it still doesn’t change what happend and what needs to be done. Keep in mind it was Richard Burr, a republican who voted against the amendment who had that very statment released by his spokesperson which appears in the last paragraph. Again, where has FNC been to cover all of this?

Explain teh number of death threats that he’s gotten since he’s been in office before he did anything? Has Fox reported on that, or what the secret service will have to do because of death threats made against him by hateful racisits in this country.

Sorry to bust your bubble Jeff, But I’m a 53 year old white male who lives in East Central Missouri. I Have been a Plumber/ Pipefitter for the last 31 years. I belong to a union, I have 2 daughters in the air Force. I have 3 nephews currently in Iraq & Afganistan. 1 in the Army & 2 in the Marines. I’ve gone hog hunting in Florida & elk hunting in Colorado. I’ve never drank a cocktail but i get a thank you card from Budweiser every year. I also have a 4 year old granddaughter who who was born 16 weeks early & weighed 1-lb & 4oz. She is blind & deaf & just recently has learned to crawl. She is my gift from God. I don’t read the New York Times , I read the New Testament. I’d rather see people praying for help at the Wahling Wall than praying for more help on Wall Street. In other words I’m your typical blue collar , bible thumping, Sunday go to meeeting, Flag waving, college educated,gun toten, middle of the road liberal American who refuses to allow any republican rightwing nut to drag me back to the 18th century.
For the record I am not a right wing nut. I am an independent with liberal views such as being in favor of gun control, believing in global warming and increasing minimum wage.And I appreciate Randy Throops family for serving our country in a turbulent time. Stereotyping people in the south as wanting to live in the 18th century is a song that is old and outdated. I beleive in equality for everyone regardless of race or gender. Does that sound like someone from the 18th century?

People are kidding themselves when they write on here or anywhere that Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, or anyone on MSNBC shouldn’t have a bias. People should watch what they agree with and what shares their views. I agree that it was wrong of some white house officials to single out fox, and it’s also unprofessional of Kieth Olbermann and Ms. Maddow to jump on every chance they get to criticize Fox. One aspect of Fox i can think of that I find good to point out is Glenn Beck. He lies every day on his show presumably cause he’s looking for a way to criticize Democrats and make them sound more radical then they are. Other than him, I’ve got no problem with Fox news and most people shouldn’t as if someone like Kieth Olbermann or countless others can have a show, I see no reason Sean Hannity can’t. As a progressive myself, iI do watch MSNBC, and that is why I watch MSNBC. I’d expect a conservative would watch Sean Hannity or Bill O’reilly. Don’t be unreasonable and say we don’t care what Keith Olbermann says, and on the other side, when Keith Olbermann criticizes Bill O’reilly or Rachel Maddow critisizes Sean Hannity as she’s done lately, don’t take either of them seriously. To end this reasonably long comment, I’ll say, Glenn Beck is the reason for the controversy in such uncontroversial information as this. He organised the 9/12 crap and started the practice of calling the president a fashist dictator who was going to kill 6 million jews, or abolish freedom of speech (That’d get rid of him, wouldn’t it?). Despite his repulsive imagination, the white house has no business telling him to shut up. After that long end to a long comment, i will say, the republicans need to pull their heads out of a place that they shouldn’t be so that the democrats don’t pass a crappy bill for health care, or even worse, Glenn Beck’s concentration camps or death panels (creepy font).
Please point out all of Glenn’s lies. IE. show me the lies. Don’t say Glenn said this or that, show them to me. Glenn always has FACTS to support his claims. When Glenn used Van Jones own words to prove he was a radical, the left claimed it was a smear job. Give me a break. Also, please show me the complete context of Glenn’s comments. If Glenn lies soo much, how come the white house is not refuting specific claims by Glenn. They can’t!!! Kind of hard to explain why Mao is the political philosopher you turn to most. And if you look at the context of that statement, it was NOT meant as a joke.
