NBC has effectively canceled Trauma opting not to give it a full season pick-up. The current plan is that the original order of 13 episodes will complete production and air, but no additional episodes will be ordered.
The move comes as no surprise, especially on the heels of a full season pick-up for Mercy.
This increases the odds of an early return for Chuck, likely in January. The Trauma news comes on the heels of NBC ordering six additional episodes of Chuck, which was originally scheduled to return in March. I’d look for its January return on Mondays at 8pm and for NBC to move Heroes to the 9pm time slot, just like last year.

Oh my God, this is too much Trauma for me to handle!!!
It seems strange to me to follow up this order of confidence with… putting it back in its death slot. I think Mercy’s just being kept for the reasons of not wanting to cancel all of their new dramas and the hope that maybe it’ll grow… but it’s certainly not going to have the buzz that Chuck has.
I say move Chuck to 8 on Wednesdays and move Mercy to Thursdays (probably at 8 too, Heroes is a little dark for 8 – it should go back to 9) I’d like to believe this is a sign that they’re anxious for Chuck to grow.
And by move Mercy to Thursdays… I, of course, meant Mondays.
and you wonder why i dont start any news shows
No surprise here, like 2007’s Journeyman and 2008’s My Own Worst Enemy, Trauma will air out all 13 episodes by December and then be replaced by Chuck.
Another one bites the dust
who is next? lol
mercy is next..if only trauma could have been on a network with a big budget
Brendan, Mercy already has a full season pickup…
Mercy has the advantage of a less competitive timeslot and lower price but Its doubtful the series will make it to a second season.
Well at least they will a chance to produce all episodes
Is it not a bit of a leap saying it is cancelled? alot of shows get renewed without showing 22 episodes, especially as it is sharing a timeslot on a struggling network in tough times. What am I missing?
It’s an awful show and deserves to be cancelled, but I’m glad I get to point and laugh at the remaining episodes. I just started to watch my tape of the most recent episode, the Halloween one, and had to stop partway through because my brain began to melt out of my ears. This is one tough show to watch. It’s so slow and dreary. Cancellation is totally warranted.
If the suits at NBC have a brain, they will leave Heroes at 8 and see if the lead-in can give Chuck some young viewers. Then, if the plan is successful, they can have Chuck be the tentpole on Mondays going forward, cancel the expensive Heroes, and try to find something better and/or cheaper for Monday 8pm next season (second comedy block?… I know, I know, too much to ask… CBS’ comedy block competition, blha blah blah…)
And if Heroes at 8pm, Chuck at 9pm DOESN’T work… well NBC should be used to things not working, so big deal
NBC always airs all the episodes of their axed dramas, since pulling Trauma and airing repeats would be worse. Like I have mentioned several times Trauma gets burned up in December, Chuck returns in Jan. The question is will Heroes move to 9:00 for its remaining January episodes so Chuck can premiere at 8, thats the likely scenario. The sched could look like this by March
Monday
8:00 Chuck
9:00 Heroes (Jan-Feb)
9:00 Persons Unknown (March-May)
10:00 The Jay Leno Show
Tuesday
8:00 The Biggest Loser
9:30 100 Questions
10:00 The Jay Leno Show
Wednesday
8:00 Mercy
9:00 Law & Order SVU
10:00 The Jay Leno Show
Thursday
8:00 Community
8:30 Parks & Recreation
9:00 The Office
9:30 30 Rock
10:00 The Jay Leno Show
Friday
8:00 Law & Order (Jan-Feb)
8:00 Perfect 10 or The Sing Off (March-May)
9:00 Dateline NBC
10:00 The Jay Leno Show
Sunday
8:00 Marriage Ref (Jan-Feb)
8:00 Parenthood (March-May)
9:00 Celebrity Apprentice
Marriage Ref only has 6 episodes so it will go by quickly. Its likely 100 Questions could premiere after Biggest Loser and should Loser expand to 2 Hours, Questions could fill the Parks void should NBC opt to replace it. NBC has a lot of holes to fill but Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are likely to stay the same as fall.
The 4 hour mini series Day One may air sometime around February, so it can fill the void left by Heroes, temporarily and give Chuck a 2 week hiatus.
David: Most shows that got renewed with less than 22 episodes on broadcast are on midseason. The only exceptions I could think of now are Pushing Daisies, Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money that was renewed for a seconde with less than 13 episodes aired on 2007 but there was the writers’ strike then so it was a different case.
Not getting a back-nine is as good as canceled but at least it will have a chance to complete its order.
Looking at Trauma’s price tag it’s very decent from NBC to let them finish their 13 episodes.
I am worried a little about Chuck because Monday practically became the new Thursday (the day has 12 (!) ok-to great performers), but it has a great built-in audience (2-2,5 demo, 6-7 million total viewers) and that should be enough for NBC this season maybe for even a fourth season renewal.
Man about time, next up Three Rivers.
This is a bad decision to be honest with you guys. Trauma just needed a boost and it was in the wrong slot. Trauma should’ve been doubled up with Mercy on Wednesdays. Trauma seems to have kept or grown the same audience that Heroes had so it probably would’ve gotten 7 million viewers just like Mercy.
NBC cancelled another two shows that will haunt them in SouthLAnd and Trauma. The Third Watch curse continues.
If they wanted to cancel something, cancel the expensive Community and Parks & Recreation which aint doing shit.
Trauma didn’t hold the Heroes audience, and I’m sure it’s much more expensive to make then Community and Parks & Recreation.
Trauma kept or grew the older viewers but it bled the younger ones, hence its cancellation.
forg:
Chuck also got renewed in the 2007 writer’s strike-shortened season, just FYI to help you with your list. It aired only 13 episodes that year.
As a San Francisco resident, this is a disappointment because I looked forward to seeing a popular show with lots of SF location scenes. Haven’t had a real SF location show since Nash Bridges. Full House and Party of Five were on sets, not rly SF.
Despite its continued nose dive into cancellation I would not be surprised if NBC orders another 3 to 6 episodes of Heroes. Pretty sad when a show that people are worried about getting canceled is one of the higher rated(highest drama??) shows on the network. If Chuck can pull in over 6 million viewers it would have to be almost a given that it gets a 4th season.
Also if NBC is gonna give Heroes a future past this year I think they need to work out a deal with the show and give them a definitive end date. ABC and Lost did right by doing this and its probably the reason the show has retained(actually increased in my opinion) its continued level of quality.
do you know one of the reason why and entire crew loose their job is your articles?
you don’t even write a show, you don’t create anything, you just criticize all the time.
Would be interesting to see how would Miami Trauma do.
NBC Finally produces a show besides SVU that I love and they pull the plug. WTF is wrong with these people. I think chuck is one of the stupidest show on television, and Hero’s went down hill after the first season. Parks and rec dont even get me started. Big mistake NBC, and as much as I sort of kind of enjoy Mercy it has nothing on Trauma.
Our family really enjoyed this show, “Trauma” was reminiscent of the old “Emergency!” series. The cast was phenomenal and I can’t believe they cancelled it. Now what dumb reality show are they going to stick us with. If this keeps up soon everyone will be turning the TV off.
Mercy is a pretty good show. One of my current shows im watching.
each character has major potential as well.
Heroes should move back to the 9:00 PM slot, it’s just getting killed right now, too much competition.
& Chuck, my second favorite show needs to come back like.. NOW!
Wow this is a shocker! With the ratings it got, you’d expect a full season pick up and even an early extra season renewal!
Thomas Jones,
The reason shows get canceled is that they are so boring that nobody watches them. No amount of bad press can kill a show if it has enough viewers watching it, the same way no amount of critics love can save a piece of boring pretentious crap. See the case of Private Practice, it had the worst reviews of all the Wednesday line-up when it premiered, still here. Look at what happened to Pushing Daisies, considered the best new show for the same season by the critics, nobody was watching, and now it is gone.
The same way saying a show has bad numbers, after nobody watched is not going to kill it. It was already dead. Let me explain in in a way that a person that likes Trauma would get it. It’s like accusing the paramedics of killing a patient when they arrive to an accident and the victim was decapitated. Just in case you don’t know, there is not much you can do in case of decapitation but bagging and tagging. That is what this site does, bags and tags the dead. Flags the terminally ill.
The case with Trauma is that most of the critics and the viewers agree, it is a piece of crap. Not even the San Francisco Chronicle had any love for it in order to keep the jobs in SF, and gave Trauma it’s worse review.
It is very expensive piece of crap, that on any other network would have production shut down 2 weeks ago, when they were starting 1.09. Not getting the 13 episodes done, let alone aired. Trauma has nothing to say, nothing to add, no story, no characters, and no actors. !3 episodes is already 13 episodes too long for such a piece of crap. If you want to blame anyone for job losses, blame the creators of the show for wasting everyone’s time.
If the cast and crew didn’t get that they were going to be out of a job really soon, after watching the first episodes, and weren’t already looking for the next job, blame it on their lack of taste and judgment, not on this or other media.
@NBCSeeUs1978
Cancel Community? Are you mad? It’s the only good show on NBC.
BRING BACK MY NAME IS EARL!
And the four episodes of Day One?
I think it will be running in January
The reason Trauma is gone and not Mercy (which did get a full season pick up) is clear. Mercy while not a huge winner in the 18-49 demo is getting over 7 million viewers and holding its own each week in the key demo. That’s why I think it stays where it is and “Chuck” goes back on Monday.
Now that Trauma’s axed, the next shows we can expect to see gone are, in the order
Three Rivers (After November 1)
Hank (After November 18)
Eastwick (December; will air all episodes)
The Forgotten (December; will air all episodes)
Brothers (December 27; will air all episodes)
Dollhouse (January 22, 2010; will air all episodes)
Bubble shows Lie to Me and Accidentally on Purpose should get a full year.
usual NBC again
@ S.
Love the decapitation and bag and tag metaphors. It’s so true.
Why do you people say “NBC always does this!” when ABC is the one that took a lightsaber to its shows last season.
Well-known NBC strategy.
Should have used headline “TRAUMA FANS TRAUMATIZED BY CANCELLATION”
What about Day One?
NBC is in Fox’s shoes since w/ Jay Leno thhey can only build a schedule in 2hour blocks, the diffrence is that Fox in the last season or so has found a way to have strong lead in shows on every night except Friday.
NBC has let their schedule crumble, if they could air Leno maybe 4 nights a week then get L&O in those 10 PM slots, then go from their it may help.
I’m saddened but not surprised. The show is frustratingly lame in lots of ways, but this was big time exposure for my fellow Maori Cliff Curtis, who shined in his role.
His film career is still steadily rising, but being part of a hit show on a network could only help. Hopefully he’ll get another shot on a TV show, or will get a chance to lead in an American film in the next couple years.
If Hollywood has accepted one Polynesian in Dwayne Johnson as a lead, hopefully they’ll accept another in Cliff for more serious or heavier acting roles.
S,
You’re a loser. You have no life. You just wrote an essay about how bad a show was. ZERO
“Mercy” is at least quirky and amusing at times. “Trauma” was just an overproduced flop. It’s as if they didn’t listen to anybody that actually works in fire/ems and just did not care about getting anything right at all.
Terrible show.
It seems that every year, a new NBC monday night series airing post Heroes gets axed. Trauma was expensive and not really all that great. Mercy is a better doctor show and does better in the less competitive hour but should be crushed when Idol comes on in Jan. The Parks and Community renewals were a no brainer despite low numbers, but if NBC cancelled all of their current low rated comedies all they would have is The Office and 30 Rock.
NBC is considering final seasoning heroes
This could be bad news for “Heroes” fans. Real bad news.
Sources at NBC have told Airlock Alpha that the inevitable is finally happening: Networks executives will ask “Heroes” producers to wind the series down, possibly with an overall finale this season.
“There isn’t much happening with this show in terms of audience, and giving it a ‘final chapter’ feel is something the network is considering to help allow the show to go out with a bang,” said the source, who asked not to be identified.
NBC needs to cancel “The Jay Leno Show” already. It’s a flop. Regardless of savings, the show is a critical and commercial failure. It’s bringing down all the local newscasts that follow it. Return the dramas tp 10 p.m. where they belong, NBC.
Tar – Thats the 1 smart thing NBC has done. Heroes needs to end like how Prison Break wrapped up last year. The series may as well finish up now. Law & Order may need to wrap up as well.
Rob – NBC already has Leno for 2 years, so theyre not ready to let him go just yet.
With Southland, Trauma and veterans Heroes and Law & Order likely ending this year, only SVU and Chuck is left as returning dramas. SVU is easily returning and this may help NBC keep Chuck around. NBC may want to keep Mercy around as well for another year, but maybe im looking into this too much
@Rob, and what are they going to put in those 5 hours instead of Leno? If they spend a LOT of money, they might have enough new shows to replace Leno next year, but they don’t have any real options right now. It’s Leno or five hours of Dateline and repeats.
Chuck and Abrams show next year spy night.
Holly – Its true NBC saves a lot of money with Leno by not airing dramas but NBC loses out because some of their best dramas have done really well at 10 as opposed to 9 like Medium, ER, Southland, SVU, Law & Order. NBC will keep Leno but will likely revert to the usual full year strategy. As opposed to their current Sept-Feb, Mar-May, 2 schedules.
Definitely returning for 2010-2011
Law & Order SVU
The Biggest Loser
The Office
30 Rock
Community
Dateline
Celebrity Apprentice
Definitely or Probably Not Returning
Southland
Trauma
Heroes
Law & Order
Parks and Recreation
50/50
Chuck
Mercy
Oh, I’m not saying Leno was a great idea, I’m just saying they can’t cancel it until at least next season (and even that’s a maybe).
Wait, Community is definitely returning, but Parks and Rec is definitely not? Huh?
And instead of giving Chuck something like “Wait and See” you immediately went to 50/50?
Well, at least Chuck only went 50/50. Celeb Apprentice is definitely renewed without airing a single episode!
you’re forgetting all the midseason shows (Persons Unknown – Very cheap for NBC, Parenthood and 100 Question + reality / game shows)
I watched 40 minutes of 1 show. It was the worst show I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t even finish it. NBC’s run by morons. Nice move, btw on Leno and Conan. And Jimmy Fallon is the worst talk show host in history. He doesn’t even belong in the industry- he’s so bad.
Julia – I really see Community as a “definitely returning” type of series. It has good critical praise and if anything for NBC’s comedy block next season its a show they may want to keep around. I dont see Parks getting a third year. Parks got a second chance and is performing the worst of the 4 comedies so if anything my guess is that its done. Celebrity Apprentice is a reality/competition series so as long as it does respectable NBC will keep it around.
Tar – Well Persons Unknown and Parenthood havent premiered yet and dont even have definitive slots so its hard to determine their fates.
Bill – Id say Chuck for 50/50 because with so many other series likely to end, NBC may find a way to keep Chuck around. While I expect numbers to likely be on par with last season, the extra 6 episodes ordered shows that NBC wants to try to keep the series alive no matter what. Chuck may also get lower numbers than last year but I say it does have a better chance then Law & Order and Heroes which are both likely in their final seasons and scheduled to finish up in February.
Dan, since Community moved, it’s performing worse than Parks & Rec. P&R also has the benefit of being an NBCU production, while Community is Sony. Likelihood of either of them returning is slim-to-none, but P&R has at least as good a chance to return as Community.
Celebrity Apprentice is a reality/competition series so as long as it does respectable NBC will keep it around.
And there’s my point. It hasn’t even premiered. Who knows what sort of ratings it will put up? It could completely fall apart thing year, but you’ve already declared it definitely renewed.
I dont get this at all!!! People complain and want this show cancelled then when NBC gets rid of it, people complain about it!!!
Yes, apparently, no back 9 for “Trauma.” It would seem NBC did not love Dario Scardapane’s job.
Rabbit may not run anymore, but the good news for the late John Updike is that, hey, ABC hasn’t cancelled “Eastwick.” Yet!
Bob writes, ““Trauma” was just an overproduced flop. It’s as if they didn’t listen to anybody that actually works in fire/ems and just did not care about getting anything right at all.”
The rumor going around is that their EMS consultant quit because he was disgusted by, well, everything you said.
The show may not have gotten anything right, but NBC got one thing right yesterday.
I think the bigger question is, why do the networks seem more clueless than ever on what they think we want to watch?
They put Leno on, not because they think we want it, but because its appeasing their star, and its cheap. We get tons of other crappy shows like Trauma, and every other show is about the economy crashing … all coming on the heels of news showing the recession is over. i supposed next Fall will feature a slew of shows about how we need health care, months after that’s already been decided in govt.
if the networks would just get back to basics and think, “What type of show would I enjoy?” instead of what show people will supposedly “relate to” based on economic climate, or creating shows because they are cheap to to appease contract situations, then they might not be is so much trouble. Did anyone actually just sit down and think for a second why cable is king? it’s simple choice and variety and quality.
They should follow the execs at HBO who seem to the be the only big TV company that consistently puts out original shows that people like. And the MA rating aspect of HBO is BS, because the only version of “Six Feet Under” i ever saw was on Bravo and its my favorite show ever.
Some of you have the dumbest ideas. This one by Jordan was possibly the dumbest of all:
Quote from Jordan:
NBC Finally produces a show besides SVU that I love and they pull the plug. WTF is wrong with these people. I think chuck is one of the stupidest show on television, and Hero’s went down hill after the first season. Parks and rec dont even get me started. Big mistake NBC, and as much as I sort of kind of enjoy Mercy it has nothing on Trauma.Unquote
Good thing you don’t make decisions for networks. I happend to like Heroes and Chuck. If you stopped watching Heroes, well that’s your loss, so I don’t think you have watched these show so how did you form your opinion? Why don’t you just stfu!
As for you “Heroes” lovers, you’re blinded by your love for the show to realize how crappy it has become. Heroes was a high concept finite storyline. Once it was finished there were no storyline reason to continue. Therefore they have to come up with crap that makes no sense and is all around lame, and they hot shot hero and villian turns like a pro-wrestling show. Lame.
the problem wiht TV these days is they create hi-concept shows based around a story with an ending which gets people hooked, but then they don’t know how to cointinue making money off of it, so they either constantly delay the end (like Lost), or they finish it then they try to come up with something new that just don’t work.
Julia – Celebrity Apprentice wont fall apart this year. Last year it aired Sundays at 9-11 to average of 8.98 million viewers. While that was lower than the previous seasons, its still good for NBC’s standards. If Celebrity Apprentice holds up in the same time slot, NBC will want it back for another year. I dont think Parks has a chance. 4 million viewers and an average of a 2.0 in the demo isnt great, even by NBC’s standards. Parks got a second chance and isnt imrpoving, thats why I think NBC may get rid of it. I see Community more like 30 Rock. Low rated but critically acclaimed, so its likely to be kept. I think its time for NBC to move 30 Rock to 8. Atleast a veteran can somewhat begin the hour and help out Parks, while The Office can help out Community. NBC’s comedy problem is that they put 2 relatively new comedies in the 8-9 hour against Vampire Diaries, Bones, Survivor, and FlashForward. Maybe with 30 Rock airing at 8 numbers would do a little better.
I may seem like im jumping ahead, but NBC is in bad shape right now. They will take whatever they can get and more.
Was it something I did in this weeks episode? Us drag Queens can never catch a break! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
I loved this show….but I have to say it wasn’t Emergency! Hey they could run reruns of Emergency and I know they would get better ratings than some of the shows they want to keep.
Dan, 30 Rock is a hugely critically acclaimed show that NBCU produces. NBC won’t do anything to risk it. Stop saying that it should be moved to 8. We all know that you and every other Community fan thinks it’s unfair that NBC would treat a show that they own and makes them money (in syndication) with kid gloves, rather than a show that they do not own and which did worse behind The Office than 30 Rock has done so far. But whether it is fair or not, it makes sense.
With the exception of heroes I really don’t watch much nbc. Jeff Immelt’s giving head to the Obama administration is too blatant. I don’t mind subtlety, I can ignore it, but the overall bullshit they do really bores the living shit out of me. Fuck the Obama propaganda network. They cannot even bother to keep a show on long enough for word of mouth or viewers to get used to it anyway.
Way to go with Leno…stupid assholes.
Chuck!!
It figures that a good show airs and they want to cancel it. NBC….. you suck!!!! We have tried several times through Direct Tv to put a waver in to get NBC, and it was denied. So, all I have to say is you SUCK!!!!!!! ABC is better!!!!!
Just as the plot of the show begins to take shape you guys cancel it. I understand it’s a rating and financial thing, but come on, do you suits read the forums, blogs and postings for this show. Really a poor decision to cancel it.
You know what? This is why ABC always kicks NBC’s ass. Get rid of shows like Cougar Town, The Middle and boring shows like Modern Family which overplays its depiction of gays. Trauma not a good show? Give me a break and break out the writing campaign. I for one kick my DVR’s ass just to make sure I record it. Cliff Curtis is absolutely a breath of fresh air. Kill the Leno show, he had his turn when he took over for Carson and his new show sucks big time, why not let Trauma be put in that time slot. Oh NBC… et tu??? Jeeez… I am so friggin disappointed.
P.S. When my son came and gave me the news, I felt like someone kicked in my stomach. I think NBC needs a REAL jolt of reality. BOYCOTT THEIR SHOWS!
@ rshayes
Trauma didn’t have Robert Fuller’s rockin’ sideburns!
JayKee writes, “I understand it’s a rating and financial thing, but come on, do you suits read the forums, blogs and postings for this show.”
Do they? Sure. They read this…
http://boards.nbc.com/nbc/index.php?showtopic=828065
This network loves to shoot themselves in the foot. Here is a rundown of shows that should be on, it is short…Chuck, LIFE and Journeyman. The season should be 24 episodes and run September to May…with the Holiday time period set for re-runs (about a 6 week period just like it always was). Other “specials” or reruns will be scattered throughout. A note for the fans of TV and for the NBC EXECS…More people HATE or DISLIKE Jay Leno then Like…therefore it can not succeed, unless NBCs actual goal is to be the TJ Maxx of Network TV. Really they only need to fill 15 hours of TV a week (They were always fine running Movies or Specials on the weekends before). Included in that 15 can be news programs like Dateline and reality shows, now they are down to 12 hours of good programming. The problem here is they only currently have about ZERO of that 12. Joke Network that goes from the Top to the Bottom in 15 years…really impressive.
I think there are many people who were really trying to give Trauma a chance. The problem with Trauma is it is way too expensive to produce with the low ratings they were pulling in… almost makes it unworkable. Combine that with unrealistic scenarios and middling acting you get a show that some enjoy but most don’t. Not expecting another ER, which was great, but at least something that is poignant and you care about. Trauma has not a hint of the main ingredients that make a show successful. Big fuse, little bang.
that sucks… i liked the show… it was great… really gonna be bummed when its over.
I am a little disappointed but not at all surprised. I saw this coming right from the first episode. It’s a decent show that I enjoy, for the most part, but there is not enough arc to the story.
This show was awesome, will be so sad to see it go.
This is ridiculous. I love Trauma. It doesn’t matter if its not realistic enough. The blood and gore is. Besides Mercy is lame. Thats not realistic in Hospitals.
They’re keeping Mercy instead of Trauma? What the hell are they thinking? Trauma is a very good show!
I hate NBC – they canceled Life (a show I was totally hooked on) then Kings, and now Trauma. I am tired of getting shows that I really like tossed in the “nevermind” heap. Maybe we could get another Law and Order retool instead.
And don’t tell me it is all because of budgetary reasons: look at how much $$$ they are shelling out for LENO FIVE TIMES A WEEK in primetime. They significantly reduced the number of time slots they had to fill with that little stunt and then built the egomaniac a racetrack and new studio and are lining his toilets with gold at this point. Seriously – I know Trauma wasn’t everyone’s favorite, but it was pulling decent numbers and was growing.
NBC – you are dead to me. I watched Mercy, but no more. I didn’t love it. I loved Trauma. I loved Life. You SUCK!
Do a write-in campaign to NBC to keep Trauma.
@janessa,
Leno, even with his racetrack and new studio, costs a fraction of what an hour-long scripted show costs.
Thank God! Finally this disgraceful show can stop hurting my profession. It’s hard enough being an EMT without this horrible show putting stupid (an very inaccurate ideas) into my patients heads. NBC just gained my respect again!
i loved trauma! On Nov. 2nd it was great! I can’t believe they canceled it! I hope they make the first season on DVD!
I cannot believe they are cancelling “Trauma”…It was one of the few shows that everyone in the house watched together…I think it was a really good show…very disappointed!!
I agree with you Kelly..I really liked the show as well..I do not watch a lot of T.V. shows but this was one I made sure I did not miss and now it is being cancelled…Way to go NBC!!
i loved this show trauma was so good i cant believe it got cancelled . i am very disappointed and in nbc too now they dont have many good shows on there that is nuts seems like all they put on tv anymore is lot more silly reality shows that make it and shouldnt trauma is way better . i like some reality shows but not that many . i also love three rivers i hope that show makes it .
chuck chuck trauma needs to show it on saturdays
of course they would cancel the show that is pretty accurate, and keep a a hospital-based soap opera claiming to be a medical drama. so lame.
With NBC’s new series Sing Off airing, Trauma will have 2 eps with unscheduled airdates. NBC could burn em off sat, or air them post law & Order fridays in the month.
This Show is a good one. The ONLY Non sci Fi show I watch really. I like LOST, HEROES, FRINGE, FLASH FORWARD, Stargate Atlantis, Star Trek.. blah blah blah.. I’m a Sci Fi Geek girl.. So seeing the only actual reality-ish based show that I LIKE getting whacked is a real pisser… *Cries* I love Rabbit.. Oh well.. I’ll just have to resort to Fan Fictions now. NBC Sucks like crap. They add new shows and then kill them.. It’s like.. what he HELL? Heroes, Chuck… They keep all the old stuff.. why do they bother TRYING with new ANYTHING. DAMN I’m pissed.
Unfortunate. I thought Trauma was a great show. Any possibility of another broadcast picking up the show?
It’s obvious there are fans of Trauma, there were fans of Journeyman. I loved Trauma, Journeyman, even the Bionic Woman. I don’t think NBC gives shows a chance to grow. They give up to easy. There needs to be a new network that gives new shows a chance to grow. I was a fan of Kevin Hill, they cancelled that, I was also a fan of Life, I loved that show. If it’s not a quick hit they toss it. It’s just the reality when a network doesn’t get the same viewers it used to. To many things going on with cable and the internet. Too much choice. For those of you who didn’t like Trauma because it wasn’t real. That’s the whole point in TV. You want to escape. Why would we want something to be based in reality. We want something to entertain us. Trauma was a good show! Rabbit and Nancy 4ever
Now I watch Trauma but I really could care less if it is canceled and my better half does not watch it.
I am so sick of the number of shows starting, getting me interested and then being canceled.
NBC = Not Being Continued
So much safer to wait until something is established and then watching the episode streaming off the net.
Given that great successful shows like Seinfeld or M*A*S*H would not have been given a chance to succeed today.
Plus that fact that funny smart shows like Arrested Development cannot seem to find an audience just make me wonder. Seems like all the network want are bland middle of the road forumula shows with safe characters and safe scripts.
We need to start the Has Been Network and put on all those great shows that never succeeded as far as the network goes.
Life,
Firefly,
Terminator Sara Connor…
One thing that I have often thought about is that there should be show that every week does a new episode of an old favorite show:
I realize that this would never happen with costs to redo a single episode being too high but something that I would just love to see!!!
Have the next years episodes determined by a fan vote!
Oh well I can dream can’t I
Trauma was such a great show. Mercy isn’t nearly as good, and Chuck is such an incredibly stupid show I honestly don’t know how or why it’s still on the air. I can only imagine what stupid reality show will take its spot. Good job NBC, you sure know how to pick them. The only great show you still air is The Office.
This is why I should know better than to get involved with new shows, especially ones on NBC. This sucks; I tried both Trauma and Mercy and found Mercy really uninteresting.
Trauma was the only show I watched on NBC, though, so I guess this means now I’m safe from NBC cancellations.
Trauma was just too expensive and numbers were too low, even for NBC. It gives NBC the opportunity to bring back Chuck early. It just shows that every series that airs post Heroes fails. Studio 60, Journeyman, My Own Worst Enemy, and now Trauma.
what a joke trauma is way better the all the other crappy programing like mercy and chuck give ur head a shake at least finish the season useless tv
I’m going to quit watching shows on NBC because every time I get to liking one they cancel it….I <3 Trauma, I look forward to it every Monday night…
