For the third week in the last five (through October 23), David Letterman’s Late Show has beaten Conan’s Tonight Show in the adults 18-49 demo. For the week ending October 23 both shows were in repeats.
There was some spirited debate attached to my original post about the disappearance of Conan’s adults 18-49 lead over Letterman and whether it might be the start of a long term trend. I hesitate to use repeat ratings as a trend indicator, but here’s the latest chart.

The trend lines above are 4 week moving averages.

The retarded mutants, Conan’s 18-34 audience is the only thing keeping him alive.
Wasn’t Conan supposed to bring this category? I mean, come on. It wasn’t even a contest ratings wise when Leno hosted and I can’t stand Leno!
Conan. Fail.
Sucks for Conan, and as a big fan, it sucks for me to see this.
I’m not playing the blame-game, or trying to score on the “cancellation bingo card”, but surely a large factor in how badly Conan’s doing would be how badly NBC is doing in prime-time? I mean having Leno’s 1.5 average as a lead-in while CBS is doing better with REPEATS has to hurt Conan, right?
All of these ratings are irrelevant because the majority of Conan’s audience doesn’t watch TV. They watch him in the Internet, i.e. Hulu, the tonight show website, etc. We need to see numbers of online ratings.
I’m sorry if I offended retarded mutants.
