NEW YORK, Nov 2 (Reuters) – News Corp (NWSA.O) may drop its bid for the Travel Channel because parent company Cox Enterprises wants $1.1 billion for the cable channel, a price that the media conglomerate thinks is too expensive, a source with knowledge of the bids said on Monday.

I was wondering that — the extra households would be great, but what kind of programming is left for FOX to try? It already decided to flip the Reality channel to another NatGeo, and the Soccer channel averages what, 20,000 viewers?
“what kind of programming is left for FOX to try? what kind of programming is left for FOX to try?”
My guess– another Fox News Channel, FNC2. The second channel would focus even more on commentary programming. The ratings for O’Reilly, Beck, and Hannity demonstrate the thirst for commentary programming. Shows for Ingraham, Levin, Miller? Maybe even a big splash with a return to TV for Rush Limbaugh, or “The Sarah Palin Show.”
No, I’m not kidding, I’m merely speculating.
Nat Geo has three channels internationally: NGC, NGC Wild, and NGC Adventure
I think that’s where the Fox Business Channel is headed (never seen it, but it has Imus and Stossel… so far).
Fox does need a kids channel to compete with the Nick/Disney smackdown
J.R., Soccer Channel up to 27,000 (total day) average in October:

Cody, that’s a good one. News Corp sold alot of its kids properties with the Family Channel, though.
I could see FX getting a TBS/TNT split, where a new channel gets the sitcoms.
Robert, thanks. “The delivery has exceeded our expectations, and has been greatly expanding over the past year,” indeed.
@RUKidding:
Oh please. The Ann Coulter Show would blow these all out of the water.
“The Ann Coulter Show” Liberals will pee their pants in horror.
