Thirty-one hours of programming with 29 of them averaging more than 2 million! By way of comparison ION (a small broadcast network) airs NCIS reruns on Thursdays from 9p-11p. The 10/29 airings averaged 1.133 million viewers at 9pm and 1.179 million at 10pm.

NCIS is a beast.
How does NCIS do in comparison with ION’s other programming?
Well, as long as they aren’t leaning too heavily on the brand then I guess that it’s okay.
Samantha, for the week referenced above, it is ION’s second most watched programming. The Criminal Minds Block (9p-11p on Tuesdays) did better (1.313M & 1.322M).
Usually I just care that it stays on the air, but lately lovinh NCIS is a lot like being a fan of the underdog soccer team winning the championship even though everyone else spend hundreds of millions on new players.
NCIS:LA does not have the humor of NCIS, so to me it is more like the CSI procedurals; not in the same league as NCIS. So, personally it seems to have a chance to benefit USA Network in a similar way as NCIS, but still it is not a sure thing. Obviously, NCIS:LA’s current ratings are excellent.
NCIS is one of the best shows on tv these days, NCIS LA is just kinda ok in comparison but is still way better than most other shows out there it’s an obvious move though when you concider how much USA plays NCIS, they need something to supplement it, and what better than anoather series in the same franchise. (on a side note, I think almost all of USA’s orriginal series are pretty amaizing, it’s definantly one of the best networks out there.)
interesting that the ncis leading into Monday Night RAW is so high. monday nights are good for USA NET, with NCIS avg prob around 4.5 mill and RAW avg around 5 mill
NCIS:LA has to find its own way, buts its far from the any of the CSI’s. NCIS:LA is still a light procedural and its humor is different from NCIS(DC).
NCIS LA was always going to get comparison from the established NCIS and it’s good so far but it’s still finding its feet. Many shows especially spin-off take a while to establish their identity, CSI: NY when it first started was dark and moody but it’s developed and I believe is just as good and at times better than the parent show.
NCIS one of the most boring shows, IMO. Seems to be killing in the ratings.
Don’t get me started on NCIS: LA, it’s basically a 24 rip-off.
