I wrote about Mad Men’s finale averaging 2.3 million already, but The Wrap’s Josef Adalian spins it in its proper context, noting that it couldn’t keep pace with a two-hour wedding special episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians
A two-hour wedding episode, airing from 8-10 p.m., drew nearly 3.2 million viewers– the most in “Keeping Up” history. It also scored a massive 3.92 rating among women 18-34, becoming the most-watched E! broadcast ever in that demo.

Congrats to the Kardashians!
That was an amazing season of Mad Men. Over too soon.
This is why crappy reality TV won’t go away.
thats more than there normal epsidoes.
I am so far out of the loop. I won’t ever understand why peeps would watch that kind of programming over an amazing drama like Mad Men.
i cant believe i watched this last night, but i was really into it.
The Emmy winner for best drama has a season finale that barely stays within a million viewers of a wedding (spanning two hours instead of one) that may or may not even be real between a relatively unknown professional basketball player and a completely irrelevant celebutante.
Did I get everything straight?
My TV was off after Sunday Night Football and The Amazing Race. However, I’m reminded of what Lewis said at the end of the Revenge of the Nerds: “We have news for the beautiful people out there. There are a lot more of us then there are of you.”
I can’t imagine there were that many people struggling to decide which of the two to watch. it’s two completely different audiences. The context of the this article suggests its like Leno vs. Letterman.
but the women demo was higher (3.92), and that says a lot.
