Posted on 09 November 2009 by Robert Seidman

SMALLVILLE

I’ll post the full Friday finals once I’ve seen them from our friend “Travis Yanan“, but here’s some info on Smallville (via the CW, but this was not a press release I take it back, they did wind up issuing it as a press release!) to tide you over for a half hour or so…

  1. james says:

Smallville just keeps on keeping on!

  2. Robbie says:

I think you should use a picture of Clark and Lois instead of Clark and Chloe.

Just this fan’s personal opinion. ;)

Or just a picture of Clark himself!

  3. james says:

Do y’all have access to the woman’s demo for Smallville!

  4. joselito says:

Not impressive… for a series that jumped the ship a long time ago and has been on for 10 years should have higher ratings it doesn’t matter if its shown on “Death Friday”

  5. Dillan says:

    Season 10! Season 10!

Just bloomin’ well announce it already!

  6. joselito says:

No she needs to cancel this shit already.

  7. Robbie says:

I second james’ request. Do you have the women 18-34 demos? On twitter you said it was a season high, but didn’t say what it was. Would very much like to know.

  8. Bill Gorman says:

We do not have women 18-34 numbers for SV at this time, just the note that they were season highs.

  9. mswood says:

You can get a rough estimate of the female demo, bsaed onthe overall 18-49 and 18-34, then factoring in the male 18-49 and 18-34.

They roughly got a 1.0 in both major female demo groups.

  10. james says:

    Thanx anyway .

  11. Shouzheng says:

    Is DVR out ? :D

  12. Tyson says:

Thanks! Smallville has been great this season, would love to see the numbers keep rising! I’m all for a Season 10!

  13. TonyS - The True Hero of Canton says:

I wish the cancel Smallville haters would disappear. There are nearly 100 hours of primetime available and it doesn’t affect anyone if this show stays around. Especially with the wank that the CW would put in it’s place (and show straight after tbh)

  14. Smallville says:

Joselito, I wouldnt talk when Smallville is beating the crap out of most shows if they were on fridays i bet ur favorite show wouldnt survive a month on friday its really hard to get good ratings when half of the world is out doing something on fridays. Even on regular days shows get like 11 million people but thats only because the people dont have anything else to do on that day but Smallville just keeps on getting higher and its no doubt that it will get renewed

    SO KISS MY ASS JOSELITO

  15. mgbhighlander says:

I’m getting really tired of people calling for Smallville’s cancellation on sites that are obviously fan-friendly. It is a great show with wonderful actors. It is still telling the story of Clark’s journey towards becoming Superman, but he is not there yet. We need season 10 to complete it. What’s the problem with letting the lovers of the show have it for another year? Let us know what YOUR favorite shows are so we can start writing crap about them everywhere. That would be fun.

  16. Smallville says:

i agree clark isnt completely ready yet to become smallville even ask tom welling i bet. Clark is already starting to do what he needs to do but until Zod is defeated and until the end of the year to see if lois’s visions come true he can become Superman yet. To kelly souders and brian peterson- We fans understand that Clark isnt ready yet and we want a season 10. Seasons 1-4 were his high school years and the begining of his training. Seasons 5-7 was the Superman in training years and the rise of Lex’s darkside. Seasons 8-10 are his years as a Super hero but he is not yet Superman

  17. yarden says:

SO the last episode scored 2.76 mil or 2.63mil?

  18. yarden which do you suppose is more final? The FINAL numbers or the preliminary numbers?

    Think people, think!

  19. btw the women 18-34 demo was a 1.1/4 rating/share…

  20. james says:

Yeah, Travis just posted the Finals. Thanx for the info though!

  21. Julia says:

Looks like Monk and White Collar took a hit. White Collar’s could be due to 20/20, but I’m not sure why Monk would drop.

  22. Law & Order at 9p instead of dateline? Though Monk was only down ~400K while WC was off over a million :-/

  23. Julia says:

Hope it rebounds. The last two episodes weren’t as good as the premiere, but it’s still a fun show.

  24. mswood says:

And I seriuosly disliked the opener and liked the last two episodes.

  25. Sam says:

Pretty good numbers for Numb3rs: Many more viewers and HH than Ghost Whisperer or Medium, and just a tick behind in 18-49 (1.8/6 v. 1.9/6 for each of the others). Sure wish CBS would reconsider the short order on Numb3rs episodes this year…

  26. JaySin420 says:

I wouldn’t worry about the Smallville haters, they are an endangered species.

  27. forg says:

Betty again dropped to 1.2 AND dropping from Supernanny’s 1.3 :(
20/20 rises to 2.8, it would have been cool if it was able to reach 3.0 though

GW and Medium at 1.9 beat Law & Order’s 1.7 & 1.8 although the latter won on the viewers for both timeslot, quite a stiff competition.

AND WOW for SPONGEBOB – 1.3 18-49 demo, I did not expect that

  28. Smallville says:

this is about smallville! not monk or law and order! And Congratz to Smallville it just keeps on getting closer to season 10 by the episode. I remember talking about episode 1 and people were saying it wont do any better WELL SMALLVILLE HAS PROVED THEM WRONG! BY THE WAY IM NOT CRAZY :(

  29. Exactly what I was thinking Sam. NUMB3RS did better in viewers/households than GW or Medium, and only a tick behind them in 18-49, yet it gets its episodes cut and most likely canceled.

I understand the production costs may be high, but do they want to risk replacing it with something that might not do better. Fridays don’t need to take any more hits.

As for cable… SpongeBob is a beast!!!

  30. Nick and More: without Fleinhardt Numb3rs just isn’t the same.

Peter MacNicol’s character has obviously been given a reduced role this season. Whether that’s for cost saving reasons, because he’s on other projects or both, I don’t know…

  31. Jon says:

20/20 hurt White Collar but Sanctuary was down too but it’s retention out of Monk is very good and it will air after the final episode which will bring it’s ratings up. It is performing better than USA’s last flop The Starter Wife.

  32. Tony says:

wow. numbers beat ghost whisperer in total viewers and just a .1 lower in the demo. GW is in trouble too. CBS fridays aren’t as strong as they used to be. Smallville still doing great on fridays. Whoa spongebob still got it int them. and fanboy and chum chum did great too even though it looked stupiddd! Ugly Betty is in its final year for sure.

  33. ABCFanatic2009 says:

    Yikes for Ugly Betty

  34. EJ says:

White Collar is taking a necessary, quality hit. I agree with Julia that the premiere was fizzy, flirty, and fun. Maybe they need to bring back “there will be no dance” lesbian agent Marsha Thomason or something but something feels off about this show’s last two eps. I can’t believe I’m going to say this about ex-Saved By the Bell’er Thiessen but she seems to humanize DeKay’s character more, making him far more likable when he’s around Bomer’s. Needs a bit more irreverence, Diahann Carroll, and his hot art student roommate!

  35. Robert says:

YAY Medium Beat Law and Order after all. I knew it would in the finals.

  36. F. Bacon says:

What’s up with Sanctuary? Every week it goes down just a little bit further. I thought it was supposed to do well this season.

  37. Dan says:

Law & Order is still holding up. This could give NBC a chance to keep the veteran. Same with CW and Smallville, Id say make 2010-2011 the final season for Smallville. As for CBS, when Numb3rs ends, move the Good Wife to fridays at 10. It will help see if Wife is compatible with Whisperer and Medium as well as giving CBS the opportunity to air a new drama post NCIS LA, midseason.

  38. Don says:

I think Smallville deserves a 10th season, but if it gets a season 10, it should be the last. No If’s, and’s or but’s.

  39. Dan says:

Don – Hopefully thats CW’s plan, however they are notorious for announcing the end of their veterans after the series has finished wrapping up, hopefully with Smallville’s 10th season that wont be the case. Its better for The CW because they still have a solid series to hold up fridays at 8 for 2010-2011 and at the same time they can work on developing new series for the rest of the week. When Smallville gets the thumbs up for Season 10 next May, I hope the creators and CW make it the shows last.

  40. Shatterkiss says:

Sanctuary is down largely because they killed off a popular character and replaced her with a character that the fans can’t stand.

  41. ifonlyx33 says:

haha! #diesmallvilledie# …you’ve tortured us long enough SV, and now must you suffer yourself to endure those low ratings just to make us suffer the cruddy c\ois ship? Face it, viewers know that CLana is where the heart of SV is found. Dance with c\ois and suffer the epicfail. No one cares about Ms. Lame prancing around thinking the world revolves around her… sorry but Clana has proved itself over the previous 8 years of “Smallville” (no I did NOT say “Superman”!!!) and to throw that away in a couple weeks of offscreenville, shows Clark as a cold-hearted jerk and NOT the kind of character I want to believe (nor ever could believe) becomes Superman!

  42. james says:

Geez, looks like one of the loons escaped the CW/Smallville board!

  43. Smallville says:

lol, ifonly i think u need to go back to belle reeve or 33.1!

Smallville has yes a clana going around for 7 years not 8 because lana was there for only 5 episodes but now its Clois turn to step in and Smallville should end with clois!

  44. Smallville says:

that message was to ifonlyxx33 by the way
