The episode burnoff continues?
I was unsuare that either series would air since neither was mentioned in the original press release but it looks like most of Hank will be burned off and hopefully all of Eastwick.
burned off at what cost? without HANK last week middle had its highest numbers since the pilot. Hank back this week at a record low 1.3 and the middle sunk to a 1.8. Why do they ahve to run these and if they do can’t they do like they did to teh far superior Pushing Daisies and wait til the season is over?
Ted – ABC may just keep Hank to burn episodes off, but occasionally they may replace it with holiday specials. Hank will be off the schedule after the December 16th airing but is only on now so ABC doesnt have to air Modern Family repeats. Kelsey Grammer starring in the series may also be a reason ABC hasnt pulled it yet. As for Eastwick, ABC likes the series but they dont have a permanent Wednesday 10pm replacement and its liekly they wont until January. Which is why Eastwick will air out until then. Forgotten may be pulled After its December 8th airing, once Dancing is gone, it may take forgotten to drop to a series low before ABC officially pulls the show (like Help Me Help You in December 2006 after Dancing left)
ABC doesnt really have that many new midseason shows and they have short orders – Deep End is 6 episodes ,Happy Town i keep hearing contrasting reports 6,7 or 13 Hank would have to be replaced by ROMANTICALLY CHALLENGED (their only non scheduled comedy- it has a 12 episode order ) i assume its likely thy pull Hank earlier replace with romantically then BOT + RC get canned Scrubs goes to wednesdays 8 PM
oh ABC also have a canadian show copper to air at somepoint
Dan, they could always air the 30 min version charlie brown thankgiving like they did haloween week instead of HANK.
Why wouldnt they want to air MF reruns – it would help their whole lineup. In dec they could air Scrubs there some weeks.
Sorry a 1.3 is “cancel me now” ratings, especially when there is evidence it is hurting other shows.
Err, what’s this “Let’s Dance” thing? Does this mean Castle is off the air until ABC announces their Spring schedule?
And I don’t consider Thanksgiving break airings to be indicative of much, especially when they haven’t even decided which Hank they are going to bother to air (whatever is the least worst episode out of those produced, of course).

Castle isn’t going on a hiatus. Maybe a week off but that’s it. ABC ordered a back nine meaning 13 episodes will air by mid December then 9 in the Spring.
I don’t see that as a good thing for Castle. The finals for DWTS usually get the higest ratings. If Let’s Dance gets higher ratings…..Castle is certianly not getting a season 3.
Ok, so explain quick! Hank and Eastwick are on the schedule, but Castle is not! What the F$%@#?

Castle is getting its back 9 for a full season. At the moment neither Eastwick nor Hank look to be getting a back 9 so it’s likely the accountants stepped in and called for Eastwick and Hank to burn off their remaining 13.

Tom – Castle is off the sched temporarily, but it would have just aired repeats in December anyway. It will likely return to the slot with new eps on January 4, 2010.
Tar – It would seem likely for ABC just to air Romantically Challeneged Wednesdays at 8 in January replacing Hank but they may be hestitant to lead the night off with a new series. If they axe Challenged then The Middle could head to Mondays at 9:30 follwing dancing and ABC could move Scrubs/Ted to Wednesdays at 8.
Ted – ABC is already airing Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving on Thursday November 26, but I suppose if they really wanted to, ABC could preempt Hank again. However ABC may as well burn off the episodes. I dont think a Modern Family repeat would do any better as a lead in for The Middle.
In any event like last years Daisies/Money/Stone combo, it seems ABC is leaving Hank, Eastwick and The Forgotten on the schedule to burn off through December. The way ABC handles its January midseason schedule should be very interesting but 1 things for sure, ABC’s bubble shows wont be on it.
So many conflicting reports. Is Castle on during December and it’s just repeats with new episodes back in January? Or is it off completely until January?
When are SCRUBS and BETTER OFF TED returning to the ABC fold?
Yes, we’re 16 days away from November 25 and ABC still can’t decide what episode of “Hank” they’re airing on that date. (Here’s my advice – the one entitled “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.”)
I’m guessing they’re none too fond of the 3 episodes in the can that aren’t presently scheduled, so they’re waiting to see what this week’s and next week’s episodes turn out like. Or I have no idea what I’m talking about.

it’s normal for networks to change episode ordering all the time most dysfunctional show in that category is Lie to Me (BOTH seasons) they keep changing the ordering every second if you check its futoncritic listing you’ll find alot of crossedout episodes
surprise that V is having an overrun over Dancing.
If ABC airs another episode of Hank, Im gonna flip out! That show is just horrible and is killing The Middles ratings. Doesnt ABC see this? ABC should just put repeats of Modern Family. Im sure those would get a 2.0.
Oh and about Eastwick, theres about over 400 messages on the Eastwick page at ABC.com complaining that they dont want the show cancelled, neither do i. Seriously whats the point of watching tv anymore if everything just gets cancelled?
Sean Storm – Scrubs returns December 1, Ted returns December 8.
Riff Rafferty – ABC should have aired the Hanksgiving episode of Hank on that day, but maybe they figured that the series would already have been pulled by then.
Rob – ABC still has Hank, but Im sure they will do everything they can to save The Middle.

I’m not really surprised, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone aired until December last year despite low ratings and announcement of cancellation. I guess ABC is now focusing on their 2010 midseason plans, just letting those shows burn off.

In light of the Eastwick news I wonder if they might revise this schedule and air something else in it’s stead. Perhaps a repeat of Castle or Brothers & Sisters, if only to see how those might perform on a different night?
AO – Its likely Eastwick will air enough through December and Jan to burn off all eps. I hope ABC doesnt pull it and return it in the summer.
Instead of airing Forgotten repeats, ABC could just air new Eastwick tbhat night in December, if they really want to finish the show.

By the way, Hank made me realize that Kelsey Grammer can’t act. Haha! Loved him as Frasier, but as it turns out that’s the only character he can do. Wonder if the Kelsey is any different from Frasier, he might not be acting at all. LOL
