More or less your typical Friday, with CBS taking the night overall with adults 18-49 and with overall viewers. Ghost Whisperer was the night’s highest-rated program with a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating.
Meanwhile Smallville fans will delight that Smallville hit a season high in viewers (2.7 million) and matched its season highs with adults 18-34 (1.2/5) and adults 18-49 (1.2/5). Smallville ranked #1 in the hour in men 18-34 (1.3/6) and men 18-49 (1.3/5-tie) and ranked second in adults 18-34. And for those who just can’t stand not knowing, Smallville pulled a 1.0/4 with women 18-34.
Ugly Betty was on par with last week with adults 18-49, though down slightly with viewers.
Meanwhile over on FOX, a Bones rerun once again outperformed the most recent airing of an original Dollhouse at 9pm by 50 percent (1.2 vs. .8).

Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2009 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.
Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

That sucks for Ugly Betty! I’m really sad that it went down again despite an improvement last week. To make matters worse this episode seems to have gotten the lowest ratings of the season!
It sucks, because so many people are talking about the show again, and so many people are writing about it. Yet the ratings are not getting better.
haaha sometimes’s you are really funny…last week it was 2.69…and 2.70 is a seasons high hahaha
Law and Order doing great, i think NBC will order more episodes of te show. Soon it will beat Ghost Whisperer.
I hope Smallville ratings will not drop in finals.
A typical Friday. Law & Order continues to perform well, nipping at the heels of Ghost Whisperer. It’s outperforming pretty much everyone’s expectations.
a new season high is a new season high, even if it’s only by 1,000. We’ll have to see what happens in the finals, but there were no noted pre-emptions last night.
I’m so proud of Smallville!
I can’t wait for Smallville to come in third. I predict it will move ahead of ABC and Fox at one point this season.
Im damn proud of smallville!!
and the show just keeps getting better and better!
I always wonder how the original dramas on cable compare. Last night had both an excellent WHITE COLLAR — the best of the series, im(ns)ho — and a STARGATE:SNOOZEVERSE. On the other hand, MEDIUM was one of the best of the whole series — certainly the best since it moved to CBS — and GHOST WHISPERER’s guest cast was good enough that I disced it and will finally be watching my first episode.
So it would be nice to compare viewership.
Finallyyy- Go Team Smallville!
I personally feel this is the best season of Smallville since season 2. That said,it’s not really Smallville anymore, but Metropolis. Good to see the ratings stay stable.
I wonder if Ugly Betty can improve if it does move to Wednesday…
The Smallville news make me tremendously happy! I’m pulling for 3.0 for Pandora next week. A .3 increase (if the 2.7 sticks) is not at all unrealistic. In fact, I think they can even surpass that.
Why in the hell won’t the CW put something on behind Smallville? They could come in second for the night.
Ugly Betty is not being promoted at all. I think abc needs to cancel it or move it 2 Wednesday
@James: I don’t think they have anything to put behind Smallville.
that’s weird.. now that dollhouse is gone, non one is interested in friday ratings.. only 16 comments? usually the post reached 150-300 comments on friday night. oh dollhouse we all miss you..
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!I know this has nothing to do with the ratings but PLEASE! can some1 tell me what network has bought the reruns of Smallville and Supernatural? Cause Smallville is in season 9 and Supernatural in season 5 dont the network sell the first 4 seasons to rerun on a network? But i cant find them anywhere and i have ask and ask everyone and nobody knows PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!!!!
Prup, you need to subscribe to our RSS feed and comb through everything (granted, it’s a lot of stuff) and you wouldn’t have to wonder anymore! Last week WHITE COLLAR averaged 3.848 million and a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating. SGU was 1.626 million and a 0.7.
They could come in second for the night.
Huh? They could probably fight for fourth, but even third would elude them. How do you see them getting second?
@JenSmith: Damn, I didn’t even think of that…lol. Well, they could put something a bit more compatible, not a freaking cheesy model show.
Jay Leno has yet to score less than a 1.2 (demo) but is scoring under 1.5 more often. Just adding to the funeral drums for JLS…
The writer’s for Betty have finally showed up for work. Last night’s episode was on the best in a long time. Regretably, it is probably too little to late.
@Julia: Yes, I meant third for the night. I think they could pull of ahead of ABC and Fox.
James, they wouldn’t be able to beat ABC. ABC has the 10 pm hour as well, which does better for them than 8 or 9.
@james: I agree. I think they should pick up Dollhouse. LOL!!! Seriously though, I don’t know what they could do? re-run Vampire Diaries in that slot? But then what do they re-run on Wednesday (or whatever day they are re-running it) ? Or maybe re-run Gossip Girl?
Thanks so much for including the women 18-34 for Smallville, Robert.
Go Smallville!
Law and Order is looking more and more likely to get renewed next season. NBC has to be happy with it’s performance on Fridays.
If that T:SCC DVD thing comes up ONE more time, I will chuck my laptop out the window.
Great news for Smallville. If CW acrually programmed the nigt with some authority, I do believe they could make some noise, but for some odd reason, they just won’t take that extra step forward.
As for Fox, the success of the reruns-erm, encores of Bones and House make me wonder how Dollhouse would’ve performed if they left it there with either of those for a lead in (copying, CW-and yeah, I realize the irony of complaining about CW not programming a full night then suggesting FOX do the same)…
Woulda, coulda, shoulda….sigh.
@ Rich I believe ABC Family shows Smallville reruns and maybe Sci fi for Supernatural
The most Iconic episode of SMALLVILLE yet last night…Great Episode! Erica Durance gives the best performance of Lois Lane ever(Beating out Teri Hatcher on L&C-The New Adventures of Superman; and Margot Kidder in the first two Superman Movies, plus the Donner Cut), and you guys put up a picture of Chloe & Clark…What?
Smallville was GREAT last night; so was Lois & Clark! Major props to Erica Durance as Lois Lane not only for last night’s episode, but for the last five years on Smallville!
Great Season so far, and next weeks episode looks epic! Go Smallville.
*UCK! UGly Betty was amazing last night..it made me cry!! I wish it could just get a 1.5 for once!!
YAY! Smallville is doing great! I’m so happy! *happy dance*
If CW is going to have a rerun on Friday, then they should try reruns of Supernatural after Smallville. SpN has so much competition on Thurs. and SV and SpN are a better fit than SV and ANTM.
If Smallville keeps this up it might be able to inch its way back up into the 3 million range eventually. Next weeks episode seems really good and I think the show will keeps its momentum.
Someone tell me if I’m wrong but, Medium and Ghost whisperer are doing 2.0 and it’s considered good is it because it’s Friday, or because the show is cheap to produce? Because Fringe is doing better with a 2.2
Because it’s Friday.
Samuel,
Its because they are on Friday. They are also probably cheaper than Fringe is too.
It’s because it’s Friday Samuel, and I’m pretty sure those shows are much cheaper than Fringe, but that’s besides the point. Thursday night is the biggest night on TV, while Friday is the 2nd smallest (the smallest is Saturdays) so expectations are much higher on Thursdays, and much lower on Fridays.
Wow, I am so very proud of Smallville. I hope it continue to progress. Season9 has been amazing. The best season yet by far. It’s like the producers of the show is finally given the fans what they wanted for years of asking and begging!!!!
Great job Smallville…it’s so awesome to see the increase…now lets see what the DVR ratings bring in!
The promos for last night’s Smallville focused on the Wonder Twins, which probably didn’t appeal to women as much as men. Had they promoted what really went on in this episode many more women would have tuned in. There was a lot of interaction between Clark and Lois, with skin, etc. and an excellent lead-in to next week’s highly anticipated “Pandora”. It was a LOT better than I thought it was going to be. Tom Welling was, as always, amazing.
Wow, Bones grew out of House.
Awesome Smallville episode! So happy “Wonder Twins” concept didn’t drive the growing audience away.
I thought last weeks final was 2.63m, which makes 2.7m an increase of 70k, which isn’t great, but it’s growth.
@Danny S
I completely agree.
That’s great news for SV. I think that’s bad news for SG:U.
The Wonder Twins were berated since their announcement in August, all because people had bad memories of them from the 70’s. Get over it. Anyways, they were quite likeable. And the episode had a whole bunch of references from the Superman/Warner Bros. movies and series.
Go Smallville! Can’t Wait,Next Week Looks Great!!!
I wonder if Smallville is getting any benefit from scifi fans who weren’t happy with Dollhouse or SGU desperately looking for some scifi love? I like Smallville and agree that this season is really a lot of fun, the eps seems infused with more energy and we’re gonna have the Justice Society this season, yay!
Poor Betty. It had the lowest rating of the Big 3 nets. Even Jay got more viewers. Wonder if ABC will actually move it to Wed, but probably is too late to make a difference now.
The two hour smallville numbers in january should be interesting. smallville + smallville should = a good rank for CW.
betty was greath last night!Betty hold on!
numb3rs is screwed
Law & Order season 21, that’s for sure, nbc is right for cancelling southland
@mgbhighlander: I agree, If they would promote the Lois/Clark relationship which has been front and center this season, the woman demo might rise.
I also agree with those who think Durance is the best live action Lois. I’ve been reading Superman comic books for 40 years, and this is the first time I’ve felt I am seeing the character walk off the pages on to the screen. Hatcher, for me, was too neurotic to be Lois Lane. Durance gets the character and I wish the suits would cast her as such in a live action movie. But I know, won’t happen.
Good for Smallville! The best part for me was when Lois’s phone rang and her ringtone was “Holding Out for a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler (LOL). Its fitting because of the verse “It’s going to take a Superman to sweep me off my feet” for Lois to have that as her ringtone. Kudos to the writers.
Poor Ugly Betty. It is becoming the Arrested Development of it’s time. There is not a large audience for quality family programming anymore. Such a fantastic season and ABC is letting it die. Fox should rescue it and put it next to Glee.
What kind of show has its best season in season 9! Smallville is just on a whole different level this year. I thought last season was the best since S1 but this year they are knocking out of the park every week.
I think Erica Durance has been insanely underrated for whatever reason. She totally reminds me of Kidder’s Lois Lane and I can’t imagine anyone playing CK/Superman after Tom Welling.
Good for Medium! Looks like Dateline couldn’t beat it like a L&O episode did last week.
smallville hits new season highs evr singlr week!!thats impressive!!
ugly betty holds its numbers but they r still awful!!so sad!
the really sad thing is that an antm encore on friday outperform an original melrose place in total viewers!!!hope this tuesday amanda will increase its ratings!-i saw a sneak peek on YT and she is amazing!-but if she (which is unlikely) i dont see to more than 2 million viewers!!!so its that enough to save the show???
wow, law & order could easily edge out numb3rs if it’s on 10pm.
nbc might even beat cbs shows on friday in the future (after the leno era was done)
next week’s episode of Medium looks amazing!
Allison starts to see numbers on ppl’s heads and learns that they are the number of days people have left to live
I love Smallville. That is all
@Eric thanks i didn’t know that ABC Family had Smallville i will check it out.
Great to see Law & Order doing so well. This season has been incredible, especially in its 20th season. The new cast really rejuvenated the show.
@Tommy you’re right about Law and Order i think NBC will renew the show it’s doing really good for being on Friday! Oh and don’t get mad but you look really cute in your picture!
@tdot: allison is gonna pull a death note ? … Dear god thats gonna be awesome.
Nice to see Smallville still doing solid, but I hope they break its trend of performing slightly lower when finals come out (in viewers) as only one of the 7 episodes has actual increased, all others have dropped (though two were expected as they featured sports preemptions).
And the CW didn’t pair Smallville with Top Model for any other reason then they did not have the money to finance another show. It just wasn’t possible for them, and this from the moment the CW formed has been a huge problem with the netlet (no matter what type of shows you like), they have lacked the financial resources to fill the schedule and/or develop sufficient mid season (let alone summer) shows to fill the holes of shows that perform terribly.
My hope if the CW survives this year is that they have enough development (and returning shows) to fill all five nights with originals, now if its another currently running show that follows (and if Smallville remains on the same day and time), or if its something new, I just would like to see them cover their schedule.
@rich if you want to watch smallville then head to your nearest best buy on black friday they are selling each season for like 10 bucks o.0. for a full bloody season… with all the extras and stuffs o.0. but dont be one of those few peoples that get killed on BF … they sure picked a good adjective to use for the name.
As for the episode of Smallville itself, I liked it (well not the shrink aspect, but all the others). I haven’t liked at all the Kandorian storyline, and while the character and actress of Tess is fine, she doesn’t compare to either Michael’s Lex or John Lionel (just my opinion, but I still feel those are the two best characters this show has ever had). I also seriously miss Annette’s Martha (and there is still no legitimate reason for her character not to have a presence of the show). But I love the use of Erica’s Lois (and it has nothing to do with her looks as I am gay), but I like the chemistry of the two leads and the episodes that have focused on that I have enjoyed.
I never understood the splitting of Supernatural and Smallville.
The shows have natural crossover appeal.
ANTM is not a good move there. You would think they would want to build on the male demos they are succeeding with. Granted the CW is doing very little programming development in that demo. I think they would have done better to stick with Smackdown in a 1hr slot, if they could have on fridays.
Does anyone know if they have anything in development on the blue side of the aisle? I don’t necessarily mean another comic book series (although I wouldn’t say no to a broader DCU series spinning off from or coming out of the eventual end of Smallville)
David, they have what sounds like sort of a soap opera set in space, so it combines male and female appeal. I think most of the rest of what has been announced on their development slate is pretty much typical CW stuff.
I used to like Ghost Whisperer more than I liked Medium. But this is one of my favorite seasons of Medium.
@Mark Wood I miss Martha Kent to i really hope that they bring her back for the last season (hopefully 10th) she could come back for the last 5 episodes and move back in at the Kent farm and Clark can move to Metropolis. OH and really bring Lex back for the last season or even the last episode please! Sorry i get carried away talking about Smallville.
I need to trademark the TVbythenumbers James name.
Geez.
If the Smallville event in January can lure back the rest of the fans (myself and several friends are all just behind, but catching up before the movie), perhaps Smallville can ascend back into the 3.5 million range with a 1.4ish…enough for third place. With Vampire Diaries so close to overtaking NBC and Smallville slowly rising, that’s two hours a week.
Gotta start somewhere.
James, create a gravatar. Those other James’ will be just be faceless.
If anyone is looking to catch up on Smallville or Supernatural, Black Friday is the day to buy the DVDs. Our local Best Buy has the first 8 seasons of Smallville for $9.99 each and the local Target has Supernatural 1 – 3 for $12.99. (I’m assuming everyone knows Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving.)
Law and Order hangs tough. Jay Leno presents a problem for NBC, despite all of the talk of how cheap the show is to produce, it’s the advertising bucks which count and Leno is drawing bottom feeder prices for ads. Plus the fact that replacing him requires NBC to do something that it sucks at: producing 5 quality, competitive hours to replace his one 5 night a week show. What a gamble gone horribly wrong. And I genuinely like Leno, but someone should be burning the midnight oil to find some shows. They might be able to salvage some of his pride but putting him on one night a week: Fridays.
It is unfortunate that “Ugly Betty’s” ratings are what they are- even “Supernanny” is scoring higher, for cryin’ out loud.
Thanks Bill!
Testing…123?
James, I can see your gravatar, clear your browser cache if you cannot see it.
As for Smallville’s Justice Society, I would expect some ratings growth (over a typical week) and of course it being over two hours instead of one.
This is based off of several shows that have had two hour events (not just two episodes that aren’t connected airing back to back) having higher then normal ratings, though of course they didn’t hold those ratings, but still.
I would expect a 10-15% increase over episodes also airing near that same time. I haven’t paid attention to when that does air, so keep in mind since moving to the CW (when I really starting tracking their ratings every week), Smallville takes a very large hit in viewers in the Spring (as most show do). So if that trend continues then we need to take that also into account.
I full expect the two hour movie event to cause a ratings increase and become the highest rated Friday night in CW history.
I mean SmackDown used to be there and I doubt it got over 3 million viewers that often…
Smackdown was actually really successful for CW, Ryan. I believe in viewers it was over 5 mil from time to time.
uh u made a mistake robert Smallville got a 1.2 rating and house rerun got a 1.1 rating but u put smallville behind it, Smallville should be on top of it. AND AWSOME FOR SMALLVILLE!!
David gallagher and Allison Scagliotti played good wonder twins they should make a show out of it, a spin off of Smallville but for the wonder twins. They could air it after Smallville on fridays next year if Smallville has a season 10. I also think that more people watched it yesterday because some people might just be fans of the wonder twins, i ahve a friend whose mom loves the wonder twins and watched it last night because of the wonder twins. Luckily Smallville will have a lot more famous dc comics characters guest starring and in 2 weeks Speedy will return and the rise of the Dark Archer!
Compare: NBC Law & Order 1.7/6 7.50. CBS Numb3rs 1.8/6 8.16. The chatter for L&O is that NBC must be very pleased and that it’s going to get renewed. (Sounds good to me — I love L&O.) However, Numbers, which I also love, has better “numbers” despite running later in the evening, is deemed by many to be doomed, particularly after its episode order was cut. Different networks, different expectations — I get it. Funny how that works, though, huh?
Can anyone tell me if my new picture is up? ive been tryn to change it
I see it, Rich. Hold down shift while reloading and see if you can see it then.
@ Rich
Smallville reruns no longer airs on ABC Family. ABC Family Smallville reruns ended in 2007.
Smallville does still rerun on HDNET at 9 a.m. & 10 a.m. ET Mondays-Fridays.
Supernatural wont start haing reruns on another network till next TV season.
Why is Ugly Betty still on? It has been doing terrible for awhile now, and especially since it returned.
Rich – too bad I can’t use the Wednesday overnights’ picture that was used as my avatar (sigh)…
Holly, would you really mind if I used George Peppard from Tiffany’s?
^Not at all.
Shift + refresh didn’t immediately work for me, but I’m running Firefox (re: FOX death threats post).
Gravatar’s official explanation for this, from their FAQ: “We cache your gravatars for periods of time, which means that your new gravatar will take effect after the old one expires from the cache. The reason we do this is to be able to serve your (and indeed everybody’s) gravatar images much more quickly and reliably.”
If it were NBC, I haven’t a (printable) clue what they would say
So, my new gravatar will be up when they get around to it
I mean, “when I get around to it”…
…which, if I were NBC, would be sometime after they pick up Ugly Betty
Wowww Supernanny was over Betty, Ouch!!!!!!!
…hmmm – I made an error on my last post, but my correction was never posted?
I am not a bot…
“…Daisy, Daisy,…”
GO MASTER B!* Just when I thought SV has gotten so good it cannot overwhelm me anymore, there came along IDOL and I just want to scream when I think about how good SV has gotten. Its so royal in my eyes I don’t think that SV is suited for those eyes which don’t see it for what it is so I’m glad that the audience is now largely the TRUE fans. I just hope it will be enough to get a 10th season if that is what they are taking into account when they are deciding to renew it.
Also Smallville is the only show that makes me feel IDK, ’safe’ and ‘home’ if you will and as good and critically acclaimed other shows are they do not make me feel that way. There may be another Superman series but never kile SV.
* The Wonder Twins refers to Clark Kent/Superman/The Blur as “Master B”
Try it again
Outside of the awful ratings, I’m kind of happy that Betty got moved to Fridays. I think it woke up the producers and writers of the show – sort of an “Oh snap!” moment, and they actually starting putting some effort back into it. This season’s been the best yet, compared to what was an awful season 3.
Bill, Robert – if one user is on two browser windows, each on a different TVBTN page, can that cause the servers to consider me a bot?
That’s happened to me on a major social networking site – just wondering…
Well done SV!
Law and Order in season 20 turned out to be a good fit for a Friday night on NBC.
With the CW moving SV’s TV movie into February sweeps, there’s absolutely no chance they’ll be cancelling the show anytime soon.
@ Jeff, What the hell, go and see a psychiatrist!
Rich, if you have access to HDNet, they run back to back episodes of Smallville at 7-8 AM and 8-9 AM (Mountain Standard time) every day. And, it appears they will be starting with the 2001 pilot episode in the second hour this Wednesday. All of this is according to my on screen guide. Maybe HDNet has a website you could check out.
@Jeff i might be gay but man u have no right to say any of this to me i know that im not the only gay guy on here and im not mean as u i wont say nothing else to u your not worth it
@ljo Thanks
@Rich: don’t take any of it personally, guy’s a cretin.
@Dillan thanks, but people like that just make me mad!
Ryan
There is almost no chance that Smallville’s two hour block would be the most viewed friday for the CW, or for that matter score the highest male demo or even female demos for the CW.
I don’t have ratings for the WWE for its last season on the CW, but the year before (and only with regular season final numbers), Fast Nationals for the rest.
WWE got up to 5.42 million viewers on one day
We have to go back 3 years to see Smallville reach numbers that high.
Last Year season high
4.459 million viewers
Two Years ago
5.184 million viewers
3 Years ago(this is Fast Nationals I don’t have finals for it’s first 5 episodes of that season, but its fast nationals for its season opener were):
5.44 million, now that might have gone up or down in finals, but its the only time on the CW that Smallville would possible have exceeded the high that WWE had (also on the CW).
Of course it’s last year on the WB had at least 6 episodes (and possible more) that exceeded those numbers based on the finals numbers that I have.
Again, since I don’t know when this is supposed to air (I am assuming next year, but I could easily be wrong), and with the drop that typically happens for many shows from their fall highs, I will be very happy to see the show top 3 million, and really, really tickled if it gets say 3.25 million or higher.
That would be great, anything more and its gravy.
I think that two hour block will bring about 3-3.8 millions. Old fans will definitely tune in.
White Collar from last night? i know you dont have but i want to know lol
I agree with everyone else, L&O is doing way better than I thought it would on Friday nights . Almost tied Ghost Whisperer last night. The episodes have been really good this season.
On The Flipside, its a disgrace the way abc is treating Ugly Betty. It is a great original show with the finest of actors on television and deserves way better treatment(and better ratings)
If CW has to rerun 2 hrs a week putting ATM rerun @8PM on Tue followed @9PM w/new 90210(this way 90210 won’t have to take a bullet for American Idle) would make more since, then rerun season #1 of smallville/supernatural or Vampire Diaries @9PM on Friday.
If they have to have to rerun hours a week..make Tue old teen Movie night(Flix from The Frog)…American Idle is going to kill anything in this spot(except Reaper for some reason, did descent yet took the bullet)
Wed=ATM/90210
Thur=Vampire Diaries/Melrose
Fri=Smallville/Supernatural
It is sad, CW actualy has a chance to grow on Thur and Friday, Thur. needs another teen sci-fi show to follow it, Friday move Supernatural after Smallville, also run 10 episode Green Arrow/JLA/Wonder Twins spin off in the middle of Smallvilles season, this way it can keep from losing audience mid season.
Go Smallville! I quit watching about 3 seasons ago but this season drew me in and has only surprised me at how good its been getting from week to week.
Last season, L&O averaged just over eight million viewers on Wednesday nights. Can anyone tell me what the key demo was last season? This season, it’s averaging around 7.5 million viewers and about a 1.6 in the 18-49 demo. I believe the SD+7 rating pushes it closer to a 2.0. Not bad at all, especially given its most unattractive schedule (8:00 p.m. on Fridays). The series has always skewed older. The viewer actually has to pay attention to the dialogue and plot twists (unlike much of the mindless dreck in many of the other procedurals) to follow along. This is a show that will thrive in almost any timeslot. While definitely a grand-daddy, L&O still has potency. Season 21 should be almost guaranteed now.
Wow no one is talking about Medium, it’s such a good show, is there a good chance that it will get renewed?
Junior G. Medium is such a mediocre show and thats why no one is talking about it….sorry.
@Sara –
103 episodes and counting. “Medium” must be doing something right, huh?
GO SMALLVILLE!! 2.7 MILLION YEAH!! ALL THE OTHER SHOWS SUCK AXX!
This is great for Smallville but their long holiday break is coming up soon…this may hurt their rating roll…I predict if they maintain this roll…then their 2 hour TV movie will break the record for friday night and they will be at least one other network…
They still need to promote it more…all I see when I run by that channel is MELROSE PLACE & GOSSIP GIRL PROMOS…I mean…Come On!?
(um…they will “beat” at least one other network…)
//The Smallville news make me tremendously happy! I’m pulling for 3.0 for Pandora next week. A .3 increase (if the 2.7 sticks) is not at all unrealistic. In fact, I think they can even surpass that.//
Ah….me happy too. Me think Smallville best season ever. Change Smallville name to Metropolis for final season 10. Then jump it to the BIG screen for the next 10 years!
me think good idea
Great episode last friday. The show is getting better and better. Proud of you SMALLVILLE!!!
Fellow Arquette-ophiles, just letting you know that Medium ticked up in Friday’s final broadcast ratings to a 2.0 in the demo and 8.4 million viewers, making it the night’s #1 program.
White Collar 4 million PLus and 1.1 in demo is up good to see that
White Collar
- 4.278 million viewers
- 2.8/5 HH
- 1.1/4 A18-49
just two more episodes then break it will be episode Pandora and episode Disciple then in janurary the 2 hour movie airs!! im excited because when that airs i’ll have my permit!! im so proud of smallville i remember when we both were so young and grew up together!
I know what you mean i was 19 years old when Smallville first came on back in 2001 and now i turned 28 and its still on. I’ve watched it from the very first episode and will untill the end!
We all have grown up with Smallville in some way and we all plan on staying with it! (or at least i do)
I gave up on Ghost Whisperer this season. I still love me some J. Love, because she looks terrific in her super skimpy lingerie. And no one can cry on a dime better than her. But this show has gone down hill since J. Love started dating her co star. I’m not surprised they’ve lost 3 million viewers this season. Her boyfriend sucks the believability out of every scene and the story line is a big mess. Adding the kid was a risk that did not pay off. Instead of getting the new Haley Joel Osmet to add a creepy vibe and make it interesting they got cousin Oliver from the Brady bunch, so it’s confusing and boring.
