Donny Osmond’s win on the finale of Dancing With The Stars elevated ABC to a razor thin ratings victory over CBS on Tuesday. While V held steady vs. last week with a 3.1 rating.
NCIS:LA up 26% from last week, had its highest adults 18-49 rating (4.3) since its season premiere, while NCIS was up 7% from last week, and the top rated show for the night with a 4.4 adults 18-49 rating. The Good Wife rose 8% from last week to a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating.
Freed of the ratings albatross that is the forgotten, the 2 hour Dancing With the Stars finale secured the nightly ratings win for ABC, although Dancing’s adults 18-49 4.3 rating was down 16% from its Fall 2008 finale episode.
NBC’s Biggest Loser was down 5% from last week to a 3.5 rating, while The Jay Leno Show was flat with a 1.9 rating.
The CW was in repeats.
In Late-Night Local People Meters Tuesday night:
- Conan O’Brien (1.1/5 in 18-49 in local people meters) defeated CBS’s Late Show (0.9/4) in Nielsen’s 24 local markets with People Meters.
- At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.6/3 in 18-49 in local people meters) topped CBS’s Late Late Show (0.5/3).

You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.
Definitions:
*Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Well done V!
Knew ABC would win with the Dancing finale. V now looks good for renewal as long as it stays at 3.0 when it returns in March.
Where’s the breakdown?
Congratz to NCIS:LA and V!!
It’s good to see V go on hiatus on a steady if not high note and since ABC hasn’t touted it as a “quiet success” perhaps it will do well when it returns in March.
Slightly off topic, the Scrubs promo during V last night was hilarious. Nothing is more frightening than Dr. Dorian projected on the belly of a starship!
Well, the Biggest Loser looks like it held in quite well despite the increased competition – although SYTYCD definitely took it on the chin, approaching Leno-esque numbers.
Not surprised on V since it’s the finale for the fall and I think a lot of people think it’s the finale for the show. More people typically tune in for a show’s finale.
90210/Melrose Place repeats arent that bad!
I didn’t know how small 18-49 rating of NCIS is. Who watches it – teens or adults 49+?
is it possible that V could return earlier?
I thought V was very good last night – it really found its feet
Ep 1 was okay, 2 and 3 were dreadful – but last night the tone, pace, style all seemed to work
Glad the ratings have stabilized!
Good V. Sadly, it doesn’t have a story to last past two seasons.
Post now updated with substantially all standard information^
Was a good episode of V imho. Shame about the long break.
The good wife I think will continue to plummet however.
GO V!
Nice to see 90210 doing better than Gossip Girls viewer wise, in repeats.
Happy for V and the Good Wife. Both shows had fantastic episodes last night!
“Not surprised on V since it’s the finale for the fall and I think a lot of people think it’s the finale for the show. More people typically tune in for a show’s finale.”
My thoughts exactly, Carol. The true test will be to see how V fares when it returns. The first episode back will probably be solid enough, but whether it stabilizes after that or continues its downward trend will be critical to its future.
On a non-ratings note, I’m still a little bummed Kelly Osbourne didn’t win DWTS. She really grew on me during the season. Not ashamed to say that my wife and I helped push ABC over the top last night.
Woe with CBS/ABC…
Nice for V but I suspect NCIS:LA’s rise had a lot more to do with a heavily promoted crossover than it did with the show itself. If anything I’d think it’s a bad sign that the audience because this means the audience is actually walking away from the show most nights.
Though I guess it really doesn’t matter since it’s in no danger of being cancelled anyway.
Leo i dont think it is possible for it to return sooner than march as not sure when they start shooting the remaining episodes.
One other point on V: it’s a subtle difference, but it did LOSE viewers this week by the numbers. Yes, it maintained the crucial 18-49 share and rating, but it still bled total viewership even though it’s the last episode for a while. Hmmm….
Tom the whole point of crossovers is to give shows a boost look at the CSI Trilogy.
I wonder why CBS was up so much, and why NCIS2 got almost the same ratings as NCIS. ABC’s obvious, though I would have thought they could pull down a 4 for hour 1 & 5 for hour 2.
Still impressive for Loser to have 3’s every half-hour.
Kind of an inexplicable jump for NCIS:LA, isn’t it? Was it some sort of crossover with the mothership?
Speaking of motherships, surprised V was static. I guess the “will return in March” means the production resumption is a definite.
Interesting that neither Leno nor Good Wife fell with DWTS instead of Forgotten. I guess DWTS’ audience normally watches cable at that hour?
V ended on a strong note. The lizards actually skin their people alive to execute them? That was intense and disturbing, even though they didnt actually show much of it. Makes waterboarding seem like a day at the beach.
Though once the camera started pulling away from Earth, it was pretty easy to guess what would be at the end of that scene. Seeing all those ships was pretty cool nonetheless. And we have a human-lizard baby to look forward to as well.
At least it looks to at least finish Season 1. If the numbers hold up, it will get a Season 2. Of course Season 2’s dont usually bode well for serial sci-fi dramas like this.
Hopefully they will rerun the first 4 episodes in the weeks prior to the next 9 episodes. Even Saturdays would be good enough, if they cant find a place for it on weekdays.
Awesome “V” last night. Sadly it goes on hiatus while other banal junk goes merrily on.
Ryan & Carol: I don’t know anyone who thought that last night was the finale. They said “last episode of 2009,” so I’d guess that anyone dopey enough to think it was the finale was probably watching “The Biggest Loser” or “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Glad to see V is stabalizing, hopefully V could possiblly come back earlier, but for now I’ll be waiting for March.
For those wonderin why NCIS2 jumped itll of been because abbey crossed over.
Tom, the NCIS/NCIS:LA crossover last night had the GA/PP effect from earlier this January. I won’t spoil what happened on NCIS:LA for those who didn’t watch, but I will say it was interesting what happened to Abby.
V holding up to a 3.1 probably means that ABC will keep it on Thursdays @ 8 in the spring. I still think that the post-LOST slot is a death slot and if any show deserves to air there, it would be FF.
“I didn’t know how small 18-49 rating of NCIS is. Who watches it – teens or adults 49+?”
Short of House, AI and the TBBT, it actually has some of the best 18-49 numbers all week. It’s really only the percentage of the 18-49 viewers that’s small.
Honestly I never understand this complaint. If only the demo counts, look only at the demo. Then, yes, NCIS is not the number 1 show anymore (as in all viewers), but maybe the number 5 show. It still has more than twice as many 18-49 year old viewers than Heroes or Fringe. Can those shows really charge extra, because no icky 50 year olds are glimpsing over their teenagers shoulders???
ABCHasProblems, Flash Forward is staying Thursdays at 8. ABC wont start moving shows around. V will be on Tuesday at 10. The day these people saw was Thursday April 29 so I highly doubt ABC will move the shows around. They have enough problems of what to do with their comedies.
I wonder why CBS was up so much, and why NCIS2 got almost the same ratings as NCIS. ABC’s obvious, though I would have thought they could pull down a 4 for hour 1 & 5 for hour 2. –
2 reasons:
1)NCIS crossover to NCIS LA
2) it’s CBS – id be shocked if they ever sufered at heavy competition. nothing ever hurts them ratings wise.
Didn’t Abby from NCIS get kidnapped or something on last nights NCIS: LA? Abby is like everyone’s favorite character on NCIS, smart move by CBS!
Ryan47,
V may be down slightly in total viewers, but using the word “bleed” in this case is sensationalistic.
I think ABC will pair V at 10pm after lost, though I’d prefer it to stay on at 8, the dancing celibrity has beens have to go there obviously.
V is doomed if it’s moved after LOST. Has any show ever survived that slot? Lost viewers want to chat about what’s happened on their own show, they don’t pay attention to what’s on after.
Tom, V “lost” about 100k viewers. That’s statistical noise. Same thing for a increase/decrease in 18-49 ratings of 0.1-0.2 for a week. Only if the drop is constant and remains should it be worrisome.
I don’t get concerned if a show drops 0.1/0.2 week to week. I would worry if that drop is PERMANENT. Hence the very idea of looking at averages over time…
Good for V, I’m totally shocked at how good that show is after all the problems they had.
As glad I am about V because I’m the only one on the planet who’s enjoyed the show from day one, the hiatus will surely kill it. *sigh* Stupid morons at ABC, serves them right for ignoring V and pushing SnoozeForward onto everyone like it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread, especially since the SnoozeForward viewers seem to be bailing like rats on a sinking ship.
Oh look!
CBS won with adults 18-34
LOL
Interesting that a network can be #1 with overall audience and the young(er) adults as well.
also interesting that nobody is mentioning this, whereas lots of people attack CBS for being the old-farts’ broadcaster…
@Tom – Fair enough. I tend to sensationalize sometimes. Didn’t mean to imply that V was dropping like it has in previous weeks, just thought it was interesting that even on a week when it probably should have gained a tad, it still lost a tad instead. How about “seep” instead of “bleed”?
All academic until the return, though. Like GodfatherSJP said, really just noise right now, and I wouldn’t have even mentioned it except for it being the final episode for a while to come, and the downward trend to this point. Just found it…interesting.
I will say this: there are many other shows I’d rather see fail than V. At least it tries to be creative.
I’m glad V held its own last night, but they simply have to get it moving. I think the major issue they have is that they are relying far, far too much on peoples knowledge of the basic story line from the original mini series. If you didn’t have that as a background, then they are asking the new viewers to take a big leap of faith to get on board with who the V’s really are.
They should have given us shots of the V’s in their true form by now. Let the viewers know that they are non humanoid lizards beneath the exterior. Let us see what they look like!! Steal a page from Cold Case if need be and let us see quick comparisons between thier real selves and the human form they have adopted.
Yes, they established that they can be vicious last night, but we still only have part of the overall picture.
ebas: Eli Stone survived the post-LOST slot, but it was canceled last fall during its second season. Basically, the post-LOST slot is cursed for new scripted shows, which is why FF should be moved there instead of V.
NBC has a special addition of “Biggest Loser” tonight pre-empting it’s ususual Wed line up. It’s a look back at how past contestants have been doing in maintaining their weight, etc. My guess is that it will do pretty well for a Thanksgiving Eve–especially on a Wed.
So I guess NBC’s “Big Loser” is going up against ABC’s big loser (with apologies to “Eastwick”)
I watched the first episode of V, liked it.
I watched the second episode of V, hated it.
Skipped the third episode because of second episode hatred.
Came back for the fourth episode to see how it ends.
Not that anyone cares about my viewing habits, but maybe others did the same thing and that’s why it held steady?
I’m happy V stayed steady. The true test, however, will be if it can keep those good numbers for March. Hopefully it will since it ended on a strong note.
NCIS has a great story last night with one of the stars of NCIS Pauley Paurette being the main focus really.
NCIS L.A. had a great story last night with one of the stars of NCIS Pauley Paurette being the main focus really.
ABC might have something with “V.” Just as long as they make sure to keep it in the public conscious. You know, consistent on-air promotion. Repeating the 4 hours next Feb/Mar so people can catch up. What else can they do? What are the kids into these days? Webisodes? Ringtones? Apps? Well, whatever they can do, they should do it. “Lost” has a big audience, but most of them seemingly just shut off their TVs the second it ends and go online to babble about it. So ABC can’t rely on them.
Maybe someone here can help me cause I’m confused about the lizard-human skin thing. Isn’t the human body just like a shell to these lizards? How does skinning the body kill them? Or are they skinning the lizard part?
I would guess with V holding steady and the fact that FF keeps dropping that V is most likely to air Tue @ 10 after LOST. It’s probably the best chance in the “death slot” since fans might stick around to see more of Elizabeth Mitchell. The only issue with this is that LOST returns on 2-2 and starting 2-9 ABC needs something here, but V isn’t coming back until March. So either ABC will air specials here during sweeps and to go up against the Olympics and then bring V back or they have other plans for this slot. I don’t really know where else V would go though. I can’t imagine they plan to leave it at 8 to go head to head with Idol after being off for 3 months.
They said in the commericisl for V thAt they would say y the Vs came to earth but they didn’t say anything about y they were here
THE FOLLOWING IS A RANT OVER THE DESTRUCTION OF A FORMER FAVORITE SHOW:
Tho I watched Dancing With The Stars, ( I was encouraged to watch by my kids, who were only interested in seeing Donny Osmond win for some reason…I didn’t know they even knew who he was. My 17 yr. old thinks he’s ‘hot’)…I tuned to Biggest Loser as soon as they didn’t notice me slipping out of the room. DWTS was SOOOOOOOOOO boring. All evening all I heard was “This is stupid, why don’t they get on with the results?”. I have to agree, but my big question is, why not fill the hours with recaps of the best dances, routines by the very talented professionals, and let each contestant do a dance by themselves? The idiotic ‘comedy’ sketches are pathetic, the ‘duet’ dances pairing a good couple with a mediocre one are pointless, and Samantha’s ‘compliment’ that Kelly Osbourne was now a swan led one to believe she was implying that she was what? An Ugly Duckling before the competition? We won’t even get in to Whitney Houston’s performance where she didn’t even bother trying to sing along with her vocal double and just started dancing! No wonder this show is jumping the shark. They don’t trust simple dancing by novices paired with pros and good music to get the viewers to tune in…they’ve manipulated the theme of the show until it is unrecognizable…too bad. We loved the first season when actually being judged on acurate dance steps was the point. Now it’s ‘Who’s wearing the skimpiest costume’, and ‘who does creepy Bruno stalk this year?’ Why not a new season that has 1rst and 2nd place winners from each season compete?…or actually have the contestants compete against each other with the SAME dance each week? How do you judge a tango against a quick step anyway? And all of these ‘head to head’ competitions are just an obvious way for the network to promote their favorites over the viewers favorites…give me a break…PLEASE QUIT MESSING WITH A SHOW AMERICA’S FAMILIES COULD WATCH TOGETHER and go back to your original vision ABC.
CSM, “The Forgotten” will be in that slot through early March. Yes, I imagine “V” will return on March 23 Tuesdays 10:00 after the first “Dancing with the Stars” results show.
@ Riff -
Thanks, no pun here but I forgot the forgotten had gotten more episodes but not quite a full season. So I guess that will hold the slot into March until V takes over.
Nice numbers for “V”. Really enjoying that. Can’t believe we got to wait so long for more. May be a good thing though, won’t get worn out so fast. A short season can really be a blessing with shows like this.
I thought the first episode of V was alright. I didn’t bother tuning into the rest of the series so far. I plan to wait for a dvd release if the show moves onto a second season (and as long as the show doesn’t revolve around teenage brats) I just don’t have the patience anymore for a long hiatus. I wish the networks would run a fictional series the way they do their reality shows and the way Fox handles “24″.
I would like to make some points about Biggest Loser as well…These people are opening up their lives and health and are to be applauded for their courage. I didn’t watch the first couple years, as I felt they were taking advantage of the contestants, portraying them as in some kind of ‘freak’ show. That changed the same year Alison Sweeney came on board, and the contestants were treated with respect. The show has helped millions and inspired people to tackle all kinds of issues in their lives head on… This season I have a little bone to pick, as bringing in people like Suzie Orman to dump on the contestants as being the reason the health care industy and our economy is tanking is both rediculous and unfair. So many patients are in waiting rooms for complications from smoking, drinking, lack of health care until a serious condition erupts, neglect of parents, drug abuse, you name it. And to complain about the overweight destroying our economy, well, i don’t think those ‘fat cats’ on Wall Street are worrying about the cholesterol content of their filet mignon, or the ramifications of an after work martini or two. Biggest Loser producers, please reject the temptation to use money pumped to you by insurance moguls to dump on your contestants and viewers. Those pleasing ratings will tank in a hurry. Overweight does not = stupid.
If ABC would re-air V – i would most likely watch it…but they need to enforce local affiliates to play it on the right time slot !
ABC rerun the first four episodes and you will have another viewer – Don’t then I guess I wait for the DVD..
On a side note DWTS – I see recaps on various entrtainment programs…Ummmmm…..that’s NOT dancing…nor are most of them stars…so ABC change the show’s name to “People Who THINK They Are Stars That Are Pretending To Dance”…and then I will watch it – call it what it IS…or don’t name it at ALL !
I was on the verge of giving up on V after episode 2 but it turned things around well with better pacing and character building.
The long hiatus will hurt it but not as bad as rushing things and making a Flashforward type sloppy show would hurt it.
Good to see V is holding steady. Love the scene at the end going out into space and showing the ships ready to go to Earth
I guess I’ll probably be alone on this but I’m not at all impressed with this version of V. The dialogue sucks, the characters are one dimensional and the plot is too damn slow.
“They should have given us shots of the V’s in their true form by now. Let the viewers know that they are non humanoid lizards beneath the exterior. Let us see what they look like!!”
Carmen thanks for making my point. When Ana did her nude scene I thought okay so now she’s going to shed her human form. WRONG. Instead all we got was “bliss” WTF!?
“Isn’t the human body just like a shell to these lizards? How does skinning the body kill them?”
You are correct. The V’s are alien reptiles and skinning them should have no effect on them whatsoever because it’s their true form. Good writing would have explained that to newbies but like I said before the dialogue sucks.
I hope Scott Peters and company pick up the pace come March because I’ve seen this before. Heroes first season anyone? Now look at Heroes now a slow painful death. The only exciting moment last night was the hugh visitor fleet making it’s way to earth. Hopefully they’re bringing a better script, characters with depth and warp-speed for the plot.
What is TBBTs 18-49 average? I think it might be 4.9…
Is it true that Lost is moving to Tuesdays at 9? Followed by V @ 10 this winter?
I thought the ending scene for V was a little off
like the graphics weren’t that great
it just doesn’t compare to BSG
I am tired of people saying that people 18-49 don’t watch NCIS. When we do I am 27 and I watch NCIS. A lot I mean a lot of people I have met watch NCIS anmd they too are between the ages of 18-49. People do your research first before you speak. I don’t care what that numbers say a lot of people between 18-49 watch NCIS.
I liked the final 10 minutes of V. Caught my curiousity for March. Hope everyone else does. ABC making a huge gamble putting if off this long. Look what happened to Life On Mars last year.
People 18-49 watch it; it’s just skewed old. The majority of viewers are old.
Like, over 130% more people overall watched NCIS vs. Loser, while only over 30% more 18-49′ers watched.
Glad the Good Wife went up compared to last week, even against DWTS finale! Love that show!
NCIS kicked serious ass once again. The show did a great 18-49 demo (which is overrated by advertisers). And NCIS attracts a huge young audience of servicemen and women and their spouses, plus those who are recently out of the armed forces. It’s the best show on TV – scripted or reality. Now drop and give me 20!
Without Dancing With The Stars for the next few months, ABC will be toast until it comes back.
Re “V”- last week, wasn’t it with the final numbers that it increased to its 9.3m viewers count? So, it still could go up when the final numbers are in, correct? Nonetheless, decent showing. ABC touted it as “the last episode of 2009,” so that could have helped maintain levels.
I think NBC aired a Christmas special or something at 8:00.
Only about 1/5th of the NCIS audience is in the 18-49 demo. Compare that to a show like House, where nearly half the total viewers are 18-49. In other words, a heck of a lot of seniors are watching NCIS.
So V managed to cling onto a 3.1 at the end. While I doubt this has a lot to do with it, I thought last night’s episode was the best so far, way better than the second and third ones, it finally hit the right tone and pacing.
The big question is, will it cling onto a ~3.0 come March? That’s a tall order, as the post-Lost slot (which it’s all but certain to be in, with Lost being Tuesdays at 9) is historically a death slot, and I wonder how many people will remember four episodes four months from now.
Though it’s still probably in better shape than FlashForward for now.
“Interesting that neither Leno nor Good Wife fell with DWTS instead of Forgotten. I guess DWTS’ audience normally watches cable at that hour?”
More likely in bed given how old it skews.
Probably the reason that NCIS got edged out is because stupid channel 5 out of Green Bay PRE-EMTED it so that it could show the absurd Appleton Christmas Parade instead. They showed NCIS after Late Late Night. So any Nielson box in NE Wisconsin was thwarted, and most of the people I know watch it.
Way to go V- I love the new V and last nights episode really put it into perspective. They also recently released the DVR viewership numbers for the first episode which pushed the viewership past 16 million so I am wondering if that will be the same for these last 3 episodes. I don’t want to wait until March but that was when V was originally planned to start anyway. They decided to do a trial run of the show to see if they should continue it and they have decided to continue the show. The wanted to avoid continuing the show during the winter olympics and the start of American Idol. Keep it up V!!!
Everyone, V is on a pre-determined hiatus due to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. There was no way the show would’ve survived the five-week long competition. Hell, the show is filmed on location in Vancouver! I wish the morons at ABC would’ve made their viewers aware of this colossal fact!
Glad to see The Good Wife went up to 2.8 and maintaining it 12 million+ viewers.
The Biggest Loser is one steady show I must say and SYTYCD’s numbers are low, I wonder if Fox will try a fall season again next year.
It would have been great if V went up but at least it didn’t drop at all
NCIS:LA got helped big time by crossover.
Last week it got 3.2 and 14 million, it was settling in that range.
Everything gets pounded once IDOL returns, so NCIS:LA better enjoy there solid numbers now, it’s going to be have borderline numbers in new year.
It looks alot like Private Practice. By itself it really doesn’t stand on it’s own, but with leadin and more promotion and time it’ll be fine.
Thanks purediesel, I thought maybe I missed something. I totally agree about the dialogue being awful but all in all I’m enjoying it.
To everyone saying that V’s ratings steadied because it was the fall finale: I had no idea it was the fall finale (and I’m disappointed that it was). I’m betting a lot of other people didn’t know either.
I think V steadied out because each episode has been better than the last. The pilot was disappointing, but, the ~9 million people that stuck around were rewarded. If the pilot had been better, I bet it might have steadied at 11 million.
V was so good last night!! WELL DONE!!
but this is crazy! MARCH 2010!! am i the only one who is outraged!!!!!
V was steady YAY!
V was awesome last night… so what now airs between 8-10pm now that dancing and V have both finished their runs?
Aznfratboy: ABC has holiday specials @ 8pm and Scrubs/Better off Ted @ 9pm. The latter comedy duo will move up to 8pm on February 9th since the final season of LOST will air @ 9pm. the forgotten will continue airing @ 10pm until either FF or V replaces it.
aznfratboy, It looks like 8PM will be used for Holiday specials and other filler, and 9PM will be Scrubs, and Better Off Ted at 9:30.
ABC will definitely air holiday specials each Tuesday for the next month. Between A Charlie Brown Christmas, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, I Want A Dog For Christmas Charlie Brown, the Shrek Christmas Special, The Year Without A Santa Claus, and Rudolph’s Shiny New Year, they will have 8:00 pm (7:00 CST) all set for December.
DWTS is nothing but a popularity contest. I thnk that there were better dancers than Osmond. Last time I watch it.
The only ratings surprise to me was: CBS won the night in 18-34. How often does THAT ever happen?
V has potential. But the long break is needed. The last three episodes have been very boring. No real surprises. No real hook to come back in March. It needs new energy. ABC realized this, and good for them. The show needs a new direction. I really liked the pilot. But it has quickly become a stinker. Sorry..just my opinion.
Amazing how many shows there are in the 3.0 range most nights. Makes it harder to sort through them and decide big winners from big losers. Scripted shows, except for the procedurals ( and as far as 18-49 viewers, even them) have a sort of statistical parity. I can see network share of prime time dropping as usual significantly over the year before, with still a relatively small % of them cancelled before one year or so are up. Cutting way back on pilots, which is one thing I read the nets are doing, seems to mean you have to act more slowly to cancel shows you’re just going to replace with a similar format anyway – sitcoms are always going to be a half hour and come in sets of two and four, and crime procedurals are going to be an hour long and air at either nine or ten central. Unless you gamble on sticking a reality show in an hour long time slot, like Fox used to do, it’s hard to see how you can get out of a hole.
im from germany and i got to say whats up with all americans allways watching NCIS and CSI and all this kind of crime shows its always the same storyline.
i was waiting so desperatly for a new sci fi show like lost and i think abc did a good job with bringing in 2 new shows with flash forward and V but i do not get the whole break at all. I comprehend why they quit for a month during christmas and all that but untill march u gotta be freaking kiddin me.
By the way does ff go on a break too its really hard for me to get any information about these kind of topics and futhermore i gotta say i like v mor than ff in the beginning it was different but i gotta say the last ff episode 9 really sucked badly
But anyways i cant wait for lost final season to air but i doubt that it will be able to fulfill its high expectations there are just too many questions left to be answered and i doubt u can really answer them all in one season
Well i have been waitign
I think it’s a little easier for the casual person to follow V than FlashForward. Even though both are serial.
V is so dumbed down and bad, that it’s easier for average person, to tune in.
I’m just not connecting with V although I plan on giving it another shot when it returns in the spring.
