I know the numbers don’t seem like much, but for Starz, these are a pretty big deal. It might have outdone Caprica on Friday (still haven’t seen those numbers) — it’s better than Caprica’s viewer totals from last week, and Starz is available in about 22 million homes versus Syfy’s 96+ million homes.

Fans can check out Monsters and Critics interview with Viva Bianca who plays “Ilithyia.”

Here’s some additional data via Starz:

Below is the early Galaxy ratings data provided to us by Nielsen. More complete NPower live + same-day DVR data  will be distributed tomorrow

Spartacus: Blood and Sand episode 106 Friday 2/26 telecast: (note ratings points used are all coverage ratings, based on the percentages of the  ~22 million homes Starz is available in rather than the 114.9 million national TV homes we usually post the ratings for — so the coverage ratings are more than 5X higher than the national numbers would be).

  1. DryedMangoez says:

The show is actually getting better, more about actual story and less about the naked bits. Though there’s plenty of body parts wagging around still.

  2. Samuel says:

Wow, it’s growing faster than Dexter, Starz should order a 3rd season lol

  3. Jon says:

Looks like Starz has a hit on their hand and it’s already renewed. I wonder if Starz will build on Spartacus and promote not only Gravity but Party Down which start in April. I believe they want to have scripted shows in that Friday 10pm slot all year round but I wouldn’t be surprised if they expand it to 9pm or another day.

  4. nillo says:

Show is actually good. Good for Starz.

  5. Kyle B says:

I’m sure Starz has these stats, but I’m curious how/if viewers from non Starz channel outlets are factored into viewership. NetFlix has some kind of deal with them, and this show is made available over the NetFlix Instant Watch service, which is how I’m able to watch it. Does it count in the Live + 7 Day totals, the dvr pool, or not included at all?

  6. Anthony says:

    SPOILER

I wish they didn’t already kill off his wife. Don’t see what they are going to do to keep it interesting. He already killed off the baddest man on the planet supposedly and now his only reason for living is dead. Good show though, its still not a pimple on Romes ass but its a fun show.

  7. Kyle B: they are not factored into THESE viewership numbers. But I’m sure Starz can gain access to whatever data Netflix has available. Mostly though I think Starz already has enough data to know it wants out of the deal with Netflix.

  8. mike says:

LUCY LAWLESS is hot as hell on this show. WOW what a woman

  9. oneeye says:

Definitely getting better, so is Caprica though.

  10. angela says:

That’s great news, congrats to them. The show is improving every week.

  11. nick says:

Spartacus is the only series I watch. Can’t get enough of it. It’s the only reason I have starz. I hate that the season is almost over!

  12. simone says:

Sorry, Starz. As much a sucker I am for swords, sandals & male frontal, there just isn’t enough else on Starz to justify the increased monthly expense. It is creeping slowly better, but I’ll catch up on the dvd’s…maybe.

  13. SaikoGorak says:

This show has grown on me week after week, still to many wagging parts for my taste but it there vision of a graphic rome

  14. Jimmy says:

@Simone: I felt the same way. Fortunately, I have a Netflix membership that lets me watch without the extra cost of actually subscribing to Starz.

As for Spartacus, this past Friday’s episode is easily the best of the season so far. Slowly but surely this series is getting better. It might actually turn out to be something good by the end of the first season.

  15. thomas says:

    this show sucks ass.

  16. Cody says:

The show is amazing! I’m actually surprised at how fast the story has progressed, If you read the Spartacus biography on Wikipedia and compare it to what we’ve already seen it seems like it will be hard to go past a 4th season if they follow the history. I’m glad Starz renewed it in the beginning and saw what great of a show it is. I’m hoping they will go ahead and renew it for a third season after this season ends.

  17. tvmegafan says:

Great Job. Spartacus is HOTT :)

  18. aby says:

I really hope they do not get out of the deal with Netflix. I have no intention of subscribing to Starz. If they stop providing through Netflix I will have to stop watching.

  19. Groove365 says:

    @simone

Party Down is a good Strz show if you like quirky comedy. Starts in a few weeks.

  20. OogieBash says:

I ordered starz just so i could watch this show, I love it. Violence, titties, & language; What else could a man ask for….LOL

  21. KPow says:

No need to pay to watch this show…

I just google “Spartacus BaS online” and get links to sites that have it available, many even in HD.

I think it is a really good show. The historical accuracy may be lackluster, but the actors are quite good, the plot interesting, and the pace fast. I am also quite amazed by how upset people are about seeing a few penises. I think that Australians and NZers who make up the bulk of the cast don’t share this prudism.

  22. John C says:

I REALLY like this show. I just watched all six (currently available) episodes via netflix. I think its getting better as its going along. I can’t wait for the rest of the season to unfold. Fantastic!!

  23. Kamil Nitka says:

O love this show, and recommend it to all my friends…
