Cable News Feasts on Democratic Convention
Breaking USA Network’s near stranglehold on the top prime-time spot, with the Democratic National Convention behind it CNN claimed the top spot in the prime-time cable network average viewer ranking with an average of 3.152 million prime-time viewers. Fox News was second with 2.836 million, and MSNBC wasn’t far behind at #8 with 1.586 million.
Convention or not, no one beats Nickelodeon (and SpongeBob) for the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers. This week Nickelodeon won with an average of 2.186 million. Fox News came the closest among the newsers at #3 with 1.441 million viewers.

Top Cable Networks Prime-time: USA & Total Day: Nickelodeon
USA Network again claimed the top spot in the prime-time cable network average viewer ranking with an average of 2.845 million prime-time viewers.
Nickelodeon once again took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers with an average of 2.267 million.

Top Cable Networks Prime-time: USA & Total Day: Nickelodeon
For the week of August 11-17, 2008, USA Network as usual claimed the top spot in the prime-time cable network average viewer ranking with an average of 2.77 million prime-time viewers.
Nickelodeon yet again took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers with an average of 2.40 million.

Top Cable Networks Prime-time: USA & Total Day: Nickelodeon
For the week of August 4-10, 2008, USA Network yet again claimed the top spot in the prime-time cable network average viewer ranking with an average of 2.75 million prime-time viewers.
Nickelodeon once again took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers with an average of 2.30 million. USA was down about 10% versus last week, mostly resulting from competition from the Olympics on NBC for a few days and its Friday lineup of Monk and Psych especially taking a hit against the opening ceremonies.

For the week of July 28-August 3, USA Network yet again claimed the top spot in the prime-time cable network average viewer ranking with an average of 3.05 million prime-time viewers.

USA Network again claimed the top spot in the prime-time cable network average viewer ranking with an average of 2.77 million prime-time viewers. Not surprising with 5 of the top 6 prime-time cable shows for the week.
Nickelodeon once again took the #1 spot for Total Day cable viewers with an average of 2.197 million.
